Well the reason they told us was because they want the bad connotations associated with DCA to be flushed down the toilet. Idk if this will affect merch and logos and etc, but I was told that the VP of DCA really wants to push this into affect. For you guys that don't know, the VP is Mary Niven and she is seen in the new BSC video.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

Blue Sky Disney is reporting that World of Color will utilize a team of 90 Cast Members for "logistics and crowd control." Oh, and the show will be running twice nightly now, and because of this DCA's park hours will be extended to accommodate the two showings.

Blue Sky Buzz: The Color Of Time...
I've read a lot of stories out there about DCA's new water show and Blue Sky is hear to set the record straight on a few things...

For some time now, it's been thought and even planned that the new "World of Color" show would be the closing event at the park. Several rides would shut down just prior to the show and then there would be this spectacular visual presentation for twenty-five minutes to close out the night. Sort of the way the Electrical Parade ended the night for the last few years, but in a more dazzling way.

Well, it's still going to end the night. Nothing about that has changed. But the timing has changed. It's going to happen a little later. The reason for this is that you don't want to have two shows that close together, so you can likely expect the Disneyland Resort to increase the parks closing hours come spring of 2010. That's right, I said TWO SHOWS. It appears that the Suits in Anaheim/Burbank have decided to deliver two shows so as to get the most for their buck and to make sure that crowd control doesn't get beyond their control with everyone wanting to see this grand water presentation.

And I know some out there have talked about how large Fantasmics! cast of characters are and how they were looking to have a show that didn't involve as many people so they could save money. I guess they didn't get the memo about the number of Cast Members they're planning on needing for this night time extravaganza. There are going to be approximately ninety Cast Members available for logistics and crowd control for this event. That 90, as in nine and zero. The parades and other activities take up a quarter, sometimes a third of that. So expect this to be a very big show with a very big presence. The Mouse believes it has a game changer on its hands here. Starting next year, there are going to be major reasons for guest to actually enter the Second Gate. Changes are finally coming starting in 2010. Noticeable changes.

Big changes...

That is a MASSIVE number of CMs for logistics and control! Should be a very well organized exit from the show for the crowd, as well as keeping people very tightly into the viewing area and walking through the corridors behind and around the show. I'll bet they get some serious serious training too. Especially with Disney putting so much on this show. Opening night has to go off flawless.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

In regards to new rides for the PP i originally state that they should build a three story fun house that was ride controlled by carts similar to Snow White and you would chase say Donald around his funhouse (i like the ideas of disney character rides fyi ) and you would ride up all three levels of the ride chasing donald to eventually travel back to floor one (needs more thought still). It would replace the area of Zephyr and extend further out.

As for a second if the new WOC allowed it i would replace Jumpin Jellyfish with a que that takes you to the lake shore and you would board water vessels and travel the water area like the ride in Tokyo Disney Sea.

For maliboomer i would take it out and provide a nice gazzebo location and maybe a little pool area with a lake that attaches it to the main lagoon and a new bridge that would provide access to TSMM and Screamin' and the games. Maybe a king triton statue since his carasouel is nearby.

As for the update by Master Gracey...thank you very much sounds excitting cant wait to see! And cant wait to ride TOT late at night!

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

^I would love if they added a fun house type ride to PP.

I don't know if it would be possible but it would be really cool if they had a flume type ride that went into the bay. But I don't think they could do it with all of the WoC stuff.

Here are some more pics of the posts next to the Screamin' launch area.

Oh, and an intersting comparison. Look at the old Fantasmic fountain system:

And compare it to the new World of Color fountain system:

Here's a pic of the new rocks near Screamin'.

Here is a layout of how the WoC fountains will work. Notice the small gap between Mickey's Fun Wheel and the fountains. I'm sure that played a big part in deciding whether or not to build the Victorian style queue. That doesn't mean, however, that they won't be able to figure something out for the future. I doubt the queue will stay a concrete pit forever. Eventually they're going to update it.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

Notice where the yellow arrows are pointing in this picture. These weren't a part of the original model, and it looks to me like they're going to be stairs leading down to the walkway area. Oh, and by the way, notice the chalk lines on the fountain stage - perhaps showing where the wiring will go???

I'm wondering if the stairs in the original model (in the center) will even ultimately be a part of the viewing area anymore.

How many does Fantasmic use for logistics and control? And how many are in the cast of the show itself?

I remember hearing there were 50 - something in the show itself. Don't quote me on this, I'm not sure. There might be way more.

I simply can't believe the massive amount of construction going on right now. And that's a good thing!

Yeah I was at the park yesterday and its just crazy to see everything. Sucks right now because there is not enough shade in some areas of the park because they have not put in any trees yet. It will be really nice when they do. I love all the work and cant wait for things to be finished.

That's not going to be the layout. That was merely one of the proposed layouts.

Here is the offical layout. Which also has the larger sun wheel base.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

I have some questions about the Little Mermaid (LM) ride????
1. I believe that I read somewhere that the (LM) is due to have the same ride length as the Haunted Mansion. However, based on the space provided from the former Golden Dreams Theater this does not seem possible. I was under the impression that a portion of the Redwood Creek play area was to be used for the (LM) and that appears not to be so.
2. Does anyone know how many show scenes are expected to be in this ride?
