Well, if they're going to utilize boats for maintenance occasionally, it could be a precaution to keep the boats from hitting the coaster track where there aren't any rocks!

That's what I think, too. I don't recall whether or not that chain-link fence was there before the start of the construction work, but I'll bet that it will be gone by the time they're done and that the posts are there to serve the same purpose, without the ugly.

The chain-link fence was put in prior to the start of construction so workers wouldn't get to close to California Screamin. It will be taken down once they are ready to fill the lagoon with water again.

I believe that building is DCA Audio Central, so chances are it won't be demolished

Even that only shows a very limited variety of fountain jets compared to what we actually see laid out on the platform. I would figure that the plan shown just provides some of the major performance layouts.

its great to finally hear it confirmed.

I mentioned this several times before a few months back they were just trying to figure out how the crowd control could be handled.

When i was first told about it they were thinking of having a showing of the DEP run in between both showings to help disperse the crowds. At that time of course there was also talks about DCA having a new nighttime parade but at the moment i am hearing that they are considering holding off on debuting a new night time parade till 2012. The Dep might end up staying at Disneyland and will supposedly be seeing floats enhanced while other eliminated and replaced with new segments

It would replace the area of Zephyr and extend further out.

As for a second if the new WOC allowed it i would replace Jumpin Jellyfish with a que that takes you to the lake shore and you would board water vessels and travel the water area like the ride in Tokyo Disney Sea.

For maliboomer i would take it out and provide a nice gazzebo location and maybe a little pool area with a lake that attaches it to the main lagoon and a new bridge that would provide access to TSMM and Screamin' and the games. Maybe a king triton statue since his carasouel is nearby.

As for the update by Master Gracey...thank you very much sounds excitting cant wait to see! And cant wait to ride TOT late at night!

I don't know if it would be possible but it would be really cool if they had a flume type ride that went into the bay. But I don't think they could do it with all of the WoC stuff.

A fun house should be a must for Paradise Pier as the next big attraction. I also feel that the best location for this should be in the west helix. tear out Maliboomer and add a nice tall and themed structure inside the helix. The main showroom could easily be built behind the helix all they need to do some re-arranging back there.
That helix is large enough for a load area and a qeueu with no problem. They could even extend a queue west of the helix by moving the parade gate over several feet west towards the pizza oom mow mow structure

I doubt the queue will stay a concrete pit forever. Eventually they're going to update it.

Photo courtesty of Westcoaster ------> Westcoaster - Disney's California Adventure
quick note, the picture above shows the full footprint of the funwheel including the large supports. The walk around boardwalk was basically designed to be mostly between the concrete wall pit and the supports. it would not have been to far out beyond that. also notice the platform for the viewing guests, that is not the ifnal viewing design. this layout hs been revised. At one point the show was even going to have many more mist screens but was changed and decided to use other fountain styles

Just noticed someone else had mentioned this. maybe i should read the whole thread before posting

I'm wondering if the stairs in the original model (in the center) will even ultimately be a part of the viewing area anymore.

there are several changes that were done after that model was finished. The whole extended viewing area was redesigned. The original model did not take into account the use of the area for daytime uses other than a nice shaded park

yeah the park feel hotter than it normally does especially the construction areas.

by the way interesting that no one has commented on the amount of benches that have bee added to the park. Somebody actually finally realized that people like to sit down occasionally to rest their feet. Many new benches have been added throughout the park

I'm guessing it's where the data for the park's music loops and parades are stored.

There actually are markers representing the other fountains in that. You just can't see them because they're so small and faint. You can actually see them a bit more clearly in the presentation video.
