![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI ^^Agreed. Based on the artwork I have to say that the bases along the viewing area that are getting the stone work on them now will house the light houses. Aren't the lighthouses designed to raise and lower? Did I read that somewhere or am I hallucinating?

But, I do believe they were designed to lower out of the way so as not to obstruct the view of the PP skyline during the day... | |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI I'm 99% sure the "lighthouses" are not the concrete towers now recieving the faux stone veneer near the viewing area. You need to look closer at the concept art before you declare the are the same thing because they have stone on them. And I have not heard any reputable source say they will raise up and down, that's just an often repeated internet rumor as far as I can tell. The "lighthouses" are the towers that were recently installed in the back of the lagoon as Kaliwolf said. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI Looking at this picture, I'd have to agree that the structures going in front of the viewing area aren't going to be for the lighthouses. I've been wondering how they're going to have them in front of the area without obstructing some major views there. The set up shown here wouldn't do that..

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI Also, take a look at these from the BSC... They have conceptual sections that show how the lighthouses are indeed out in the middle of the water and mounted to steel towers just like those installed last week. ![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI If you look at the top this page, you notice that in the top right, it says, near viewing area and light house. Last edited by penguinsoda; 07-07-2009 at 08:05 PM. Reason: Link to non partner site removed per board policy |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI it actually says "W.O.C. Lighthouse Surround View Toward Viewing Area" which would imply that its facing the viewing area and be projecting images onto the mist/water screen

As for what this structure is... because of its height and width, it's looking more like a parade building to me. And it looks like there are foundations extending further south, meaning the building may be long as well. Its width and center steel support makes me think it may support two parades at once, so they could get rid of both parade buildings over at PP. Or maybe it's just a big support building.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI I agree with Mojave, it's looking more and more like a parade building, and the evidence from the Anaheim Building Department seems to point to it being an "entertainment building", but we'll have to wait and see. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI Exactly, if you bother to see the whole board you would know that it also shows "View on other three sides", it's simply using the viewing area as a point of reference. The drawings are clear, but clearly many people don't understand how to read drawings. I could explain and bring further evidence to prove my point, but since people seem more interested in proving their theories then understanding the truth, I don't feel like bothering. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI ^^ Thanks for trying though. It's been irksome to me that this idea keeps popping up, even though it's obviously not right if you look at all the information available. Some just get a certain vision in their heads and they can't see otherwise. I would like to point out that FutureImagineer has stated multiple times that the lighthouse projectors are going back by the Fun Wheel, but everyone keeps ignoring them. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI I posted this earlier, but I'll post it again because apparently a lot of people missed it. mousetimes.com/dlrpictorials/2009/07_03_09/dlr_07_03_09_0040.JPG These newly installed metal framework seems to be the most likely candidate for at least some of the lighthouses. mousetimes.com/dlrpictorials/2009/07_03_09/dlr_07_03_09_0041.JPG And the tape on them definitely supports that, and I don't know if anyone can discount the tape. I'm not saying that the boxes with the rockwork on them are not going to be lighthouses, it just seems that apparently the metal frames are going to be them. And yes, these are behind the platform, I believe close to where Screamin is. Last edited by penguinsoda; 07-07-2009 at 08:08 PM. Reason: Links to non partner site removed per board policy |
