Can't we please just wait to decide between WOC and Fantasmic until WOC debuts next March?

I'm liking how WOC is shaping up, and I like Fantasmic, too, but it's honestly still way too early to determine which show is better right now.

Well I already don't really like F! so my vote is already going to be biased to WoC.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

with F! failing all the time and disappointing me lately, WOC already has a head start for me... F! is tired and outdated to me.... the only thing F! has is the landscape and area around it.

Thank for the video! That was a huge fountain. Imagine how impressive it will look when a whole bunch of those fountains all go off! I'm getting all excited thinking about it!

I wouldn't be surprised if F! travels to Yesterland in a few years.

The great thing about WoC is that once the show is outdated, Disney has to just reprogram the fountains to create something entirely new! This could easily mean holiday shows in the future, and things like that.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

I honestly think that Fantasmic has 3 to 5 years left to live. And then reuse the dragon in another darkride or something.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

That is highly unlikely.

The show debuted in 1992
and was suppose to last for
only three years.

Now it's on its 17th year and was
given upgrades.

The show needs to be kept.
Especially to spread the crowds
along with how World of Color will do.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

Then replace Fantasmic with a new show to help spread the crowds. I just think that these improvements were o.k. at best (and honestly I don't think the eels or the croc do that much to improve the show. I do hope the dragon is a success however.) and the show will lose it's appeal when WOC opens.

Just my opinion though.

F! isn't going anywhere fore some time. It was just upgraded massively and they are spending quite a bit on things. It will be sticking around for other reasons which I'll get to after this next quote:

Bingo... the whole point of having multiple shows running simultaneously is to even out crowds... bye bye F! = same crowd control problems, but at DCA. F! isn't going anywhere. It will continue to get reworked and plussed.

As for the problems it's having of late... it really isn't having too many. How many show cancels/stops have happened in the last 15 years? This on a show that has run twice (and sometimes thrice) nightly for quite some time? Yeah, F! is incredibly robust and rarely has show stopping issues. Let's keep the frustration in perspective.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

I'd like to see some current demolition pics of the OS and/or Golden Dreams if anyone knows where I can find them. I've checked Darkbeer, recursivemacro, Westcoaster, Disneygeek, Mint Crocodile, and Disneylandnews.com and there are still no updates since the 19th. I'm impatient today.

Um F! Just stopped early last night when I was there. Take that for what it's worth

No, I know it stopped last night. But out of what has to be more than 6,000+ shows spanning 15 years, how many show stops have they had? It's probably more reliable than any attraction in any Disney park anywhere on Earth. Let's keep this in perspective. So they had a show stop last night, things happen. You don't see people who get 101ed on their favorite right stomping off claiming they no longer like it and hope something else does better so it will go away do you? It's just part of the business.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

I agree with mycroft, F! has been having some issues as of late, but consider that it's been running almost nonstop twice nightly for 17 years. How many times has Indy broken down? How many times has Space Mountain broken down? How many times has Pirates broken down?

WOC is going to be great for many reasons, but the main reason (for me, anyway) is how flexible it really is. It's already been said, if WOC gets stale, they can reprogram new segments in or create entirely new shows. HOWEVER, WOC lacks plenty of stuff unique to F! so I think there will be a need for both shows for a long, long time. Especially after Disney has been putting in all this money for these upgrades (once they DO start working...), they wouldn't waste them on 3-5 years.
