^Yeah, but then you'd have a massive line for the new version of Soarin' and no line for the old. Everybody wants to see the newest attraction. So, you'd have one theater sitting empty all day while the other was the only one being run.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

Soarin' Over California is the only attraction
that actually remains devoted to the overall
theme of the park.

And having the new film begin and end with scenes
from Disneyland does not qualify as being faithful
to the already diluted and incoherent California theme
the park is suppose to portray.

Neither does scrapping the Cali version entirely and replacing it with a world version which is slated to actually happen.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

It's kind of funny, we have all these threads with things that are all up in the air.
Disney has Operation Blue Sky; you know a lot is going to get to the public, real or not, like it or not, possible or not. But it makes us think. It makes us everyday imagineers. It's actually pretty awesome how they can give us an idea and we end up expanding on it and putting so much effort into our thoughts.
But we won't really know what's going to happen until it actually does. Though speculations can make things turn out better when the company listens

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

So I follow this guy on Twitter who was walking around DCA yesterday and took a few shots on his iPhone (he mentioned iPhone in a tweet). Some of the stuff is pretty funny. @boy33 is his Twitter name.

But anyway he mentioned that a piece of tape on one of those big boxy black structures going into the lagoon said "Lighthouse #1". So it looks like new lighthouse structures are going to be the projection towers to the show probably. Since they do have all that cabling going to them, theyre obviously more than just decoration. Check it out... twitter.com/boy33 (It's his tweet at 9:39 am... I dont know how to link directly to one tweet).

Yea, I posted this a few pages back. Those suopports have been there for a while. There will be 6 total projection light towers, each will have to projectors each to provide a criper brighter image.

Now that Radiator Springs has taken over the Timon lot, is the Katella pedestrian entrance closed?

Wow... I just noticed that this is a new thread. Sorry, off topic, but I've been away for a few days. It's amazing how far these threads get.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VI

Just checked out Darkbeer's latest photos and I'm thrilled that structures are going up in the eastern part of Timon.

First, they have that large backstage-blocking fence going up on the east side. I guess that means the roadway around the back will remain open for a number of years.

Second, the heavier steel going up on the east side, photos of which were posted earlier in this thread. Some people think that's the Red Car barn, but it seems too out of the way. I thought the barn was still going to be between the Hyperion and ToT. It could also just be a backstage general maintenance building or perhaps a parade building, which would be awesome, since that means they could get rid of the parade building between PP and CL.

If it is, it'll alter vacationing plans for a lot of people. I think Disney will open an alternate entrance.

Okie dokie - I've finally got confirmation for the Orange Stinger, which is closing earlier than expected on July 14 (just in time for the re-opening of the Blue Sky Cellar with its updated exhibits).

Orange Stinger retheme to Silly Symphony Swings
