It took me long enough! But, here's the rest of the story.....
Arriving at the Grand Californian with the love of my life was so AWESOME!!! I had always said that the first man I went to Disneyland with would be the man I spend the rest of my life with....and there we were walking down Main Street with our Micechat friends waiting at the other end for lots of good times and memories in store. There was lots of talking and thinking(?). There were LOTS of Hidden Mickey 50's to be seen, little green men to be saved....and there was THIS!!!!...and THIS!!! Hey, I think I even saw the 9th Wonder of the World there...the backside of Borneio!!!
The next morning was breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen...a Hickman(and now a Neuhickman) tradition. After breakfast we were off to the park. Of course there was splashing and cruising(and NOT the Gay Day kind ) and we dashed through space with the greatest of ease.
The 50th exhibit and the movie with Steve Martin was great. It brought a tear to my eye. But, that's nothing new. The first movie I ever cried in was Pocahontas...and I've been like a leaky faucet ever since! The 50th decorations were beautiful!!! The parade was awesome!!! The music was a bit cheesy at times. But, then again, so am I! We got to do so many things...Eric got to meet Mulan(one of his favorite Disney characters), we rode through Snow White with the LIGHTS ON!!!(it was not NEARLY as exciting as it sounds!), and both of us have agreed that it was the most fun we've ever had. But, the sights and sounds and rides and parades could not compete with the FRIENDS we made!!! THAT was truly the highlight of our trip. Todd(DustySage) is HILARIOUS, Teresa (Disneyphile) was AWESOME(but, then I knew this already!)!, Norm(Fishbulb: seen with Todd) was sweet and almost made me cry, Cindy(Morrigoon) was as smart in person as she is here, (Crazy Legs) is a bundle of bubbly joy and sassiness(just like me!) and I love it, Katie(Disneykat) is funny and sweet, Borneio is VERY knowledgeable about Disney stuff, and last but CERTAINLY not least Lisa(Not Afraid) is a diva and a half and we miss ALL of you SO much!!!
My fondest memories of this trip to Disneyland were with the love of my life Eric and all of our new Micechat friends. We miss you and love you and can't wait to see you all again!
