I wouldn't say that as a Native San Diegan, I bet you that the post game fireworks at Petco Park tonight will be longer and have more fireworks than what was offered at Disneyland last night!

And how about the "Big Bay" fireworks on Saturday night... Scheduled to last 16 and 1/2 minutes and will have a lot more Fireworks than Disney will offer.... Over 750,000 folks are expected to watch the show...

San Diego Bay, The Big Bay Restaurants, Lodging, Attractions - San Diego Big Bay - Big Bay Boom 2009 - An Independence Day Spectacular

Heck, if you can't see the bay from where you live, it will be broadcasted on Fox 5 in San Diego and also available live on the web.....

SeaWorld San Diego Fireworks show is scheduled to last about 20 minutes, and is offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Plenty of great fireworks are offered in San Diego, home of the World Famous KGB Sky Show...

Heck, here is a video of part of last October's show...

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

seriously.... if they are offering a "4th of july" extravaganza type of show all these days yet go longer and farther out of their way for a bigger show on the 4th, then thats lame or false advertising for the other days they are offering it.... now thats when the criticism comes to play.

Most of Disney's shows have the same shells regardless of whether they are using surplus fireworks from Remember or not. I mean, hasn't the smiley face been in every show since Believe? From what I saw in the video, this looks like a good show.

That's exactly the point, it was a "good" show. Disney's not known for doing "good" shows, they're known for over-the-top great shows. I was at the Park last night and did enjoy the fireworks. I've seen far better shows, however, and feel that Sea World's nightly show is superior.

I applaud Disney for extending the Independance Day fireworks to four nights, but having "A" and "B" versions just reminds me of an era of Disneyland management many of us are still trying to forget.

Well the whole idea of doing the 4th of July fireworks show over 4 nights was so that more people would be able to see this show, not just the guests on the 4th

But if only the guests coming in on the 4th get the real show, it completely defeats the purpose showing this 4th of July fireworks spectacular when it is really just some leftover shells they had laying around

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

When I started this thread there was no meaning to be negative it was just to point out that yes the basis of the show was for the 4th but after a nights sleep I can clearly see that they just took the cheap way by using shell from another show instead of one made for the show on saturday. No intent to make waves just trying to make a point that Al was right.

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

Wanted to see what the July 2nd fireworks brought, so I checked Mint's blog to see if anything was posted on it and noticed that mint posted a video on youtube. As the show progressed, I was thinking to myself that I hope it gets better. And by better, I mean with more big bangs. I mean this show is suppose to represent the fourth of july. I want the sky to go crazy with fireworks.

Finally towards the end, around the 9 minute mark, I was thinking that it finally should be getting good since it's almost the end of the show. Plus it seemed it was at a climatic point where it would go crazy with fireworks, but it never developed.

Like it has been mentioned before, for a firework show I thought it was good. The crowd around seemed to have enjoyed it.

mint's video

And then there's the show during Manny's first at-bat...

The Angels have post-game fireworks both tonight and tomorrow as well, and I'm guessing tonight's will be bigger than their usual Friday night show.

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

I'll second whoever suggested using "Magic" and tagging on a shorter patriotic salute at the end, on days OTHER than the Fourth of July itself. The clip that I watched seemed thrown together quickly, and it may have very well been. Not sure how much of a heads up the Fireworks CMs had to pull this together, but I think the problem for most of us who compare it to remember is that these same shells really WORKED for that particular show. To see them again here without that emotional context might be was putting some people off.

Really good of them to put together a show, but the guests might be better served if they save the true Patriotic show for the fourth itself, and stick with Magic on the other days of the weekend.

Still ironic how you can almost set your watch by the amount of time it takes for people to complain about the complainers.

Not that I'm complaining about that. Because if I were, I'd be complaining about the complainers who complained and then someone might complain about that...

Just so you know, this same show debuted last year at both DL and WDW. Last year DL still used pyro from Remember... This year, the pyro is also from Remember... but the sequences have changed slightly. WDW obviously had a completely different choreography but the same show title and soundtrack.

The old 4th of July tag at DL was just that, a tag. Not enough to call it a show by itself. It was not much more than a load of sky puke, which is fine but not enough to merit it being called a show. The only thing i liked about the tag were the salutes and the couple of "hanging" strobes which were part of the finale. They are attached to small parachutes and fall slowly to the ground and aren't seen very often here in the US.

Seems to me like Senor Lutz put out his usual at just the precise moment to get all of his followers to take it.

"They reused shells from Magical WAAAAAA!!!!"

Sheesh.

Talking Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

We do have to see that Most of the Disneyland Cast Members did not HAVE the information at hand heck with it not even City Hall or Guest Relations knew about this. A cast member showed me her schedule guide and showed that Magical would be at 925 WOAAA what going on!!! To me the show seemed like a dress rehearsal (HMM LET ME REMEMBER Magical before the PREMIER) Many missed cues and other gunk of mess but it was an outstanding show for being modified. I was standing near the castle and Fireworks Cast Members were checking lots of things and the PA system was at a WHACK. So I do think tonight show will be different and more or even less pyro will be added due to the fact that they may be testing it so things wont go wrong when the OFFICIAL day for Independence Day comes around. Or do we need another short unofficial ending like what happened last year. Many Regulars like to bash this and bash that. When I was in Fantasmic I received many text messages form Twitter and they were not nice ones. I was Mad because Disney has all the right to change and use what ever they want. Let me see what does the Ticket or Maps say

All offers, events, tickets, services, attractions and entertainment are subject to change without notice
Too many people are also trying to compare to other shows. Well LET ME TELL YOU Geographical preferences affect any show. Disneyland well it is smack in the middle of a Freeway and Residential Neighborhood. Yes all of you are entitled to your opinion but sometimes we get carried away saying that one thing is not good enough while lets just say that WE ARE LUCKY TO EVEN SEE THE SHOW ON 4 NIGHTS. Many kids were excited right after the show and many people had all of sudden spark of Patriotism. WOOOOOHOOOOO AMERICA

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

Are you guys kidding? That show was better than magical and at least had a punch to it. Was glad to see the spinning sparklers again.

Anyone know why they are getting rid of the remaining Remember shells when the show is suppose to return shortly? Seems odd that they wouldn't just save them.
