![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks I think the point that some are trying to make is that the fireworks that are not going off on the 4th are subpar for the 4th of July because they are just leftovers. When I heard they were doing the 4th of July fireworks all weekend, I was excited cause then I could see the show any day instead of the crazy 4th! But now, knowing that they're using leftovers, I guess that in order to see the REAL show I have to be there on the 4th. I avoid Disneyland on the 4th cause of the crowds and having second-hand fireworks for this weekend, just bites.

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks If I recall, July 4th and New Years Eve constitute special days that Disney is given a special permit to set off some of the larger shells. When the show got cancelled halfway into it last year, it wasn't like they could go setting off the rest of the shells the next night. They weren't legally allowed to set them off on other nights. Doing a special 4th of july show for several nights even though it's not the real thing still makes great sense to me, but it's pretty unfair to complain that it isn't the real show with the extra shells when they aren't even allowed to use them because of how boxed in by suburbia they are. |

My reasoning is this; I'm not a current AP'er, and you know it's expensive to go to the DLR. I have seen R CT, and I have only seen the 4th of July fireworks from backstage DCA when I was a CM, so I would love to see the show from inside Disneyland. By Disney saying that I could see the 4th fireworks on other than the 4th, I would spend the money to either renew or buy a day pass. They are, in my eyes, false advertising.

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks I felt cheated that "Disney's Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Celebration In the Sky" was advertised to be shown all four nights over the weekend at the Disneyland Resort, and yet what I saw yesterday was nothing more than a small number of recycled Remember shells set to patriotic songs with a whole third of the show missing. I don't think any of the Deluxe annual passholders who crowded Main Street hours earlier than usual last night were fooled. Don't get me wrong, the Remember shells are pretty and nice. But I didn't come to see Remember. I came to see a Fourth of July fireworks show. Fourth of July firework shows have tons of Red, White and Blue, are LOUD, fill the sky, and have an outrageously over-the-top finale that goes and goes and makes the crowd cheer and go crazy. Unfortunately what I saw last night didn't even come close. The folks standing next to me wondered aloud if the show was really over and commented that it was "really short." Al Lutz posted his warning on MiceAge Thursday morning, but by the time I read it I was already in the park and had planned accordingly to see the show. I guess I should not have bothered at all. I was there Fourth of July 2008, and the show was unfortunately canceled five minutes in. I was under the impression that presenting the show for four nights instead of one this year was to alleviate the crowd that wanted to see it and also to have backup plans in the event one or more of the special holiday shows were canceled. What is the point of having the show four nights if only one night has the full-length, 13 minute extravaganza with specialty shells and polish the way it is intended to be seen? It is false advertising, dishonest, and very bad show to have two different versions of the fireworks show while calling all of them by the same name. It's like ordering a sirloin steak at Outback and getting a Jack in the Box mini sirloin burger. Not all guests are getting the same experience. I'm going to be with my family on July 4th, and Disneyland isn't in the plans, so I will not be able to see the full show. Honestly, I'm tired of waiting for Disney to get its act together when it comes to holiday celebrations. I'm going to spend them somewhere else from now on. |

I understand that I have a different frame of reference than do guests who have never seen Remember, but seeing the same shells in the sky for Remember set to tunes like America the Beautiful and Yankee Doodle didn't make me feel patriotic or proud of our country at all; rather, it made me wish I was seeing the Remember show instead. It felt crude and hurriedly put together. There were only one or two shells in the sky at once, and it didn't match the grandeur and power of the soundtrack at all. In fact, the music outdid the pyro by far, and that's sad when you consider that many of the songs were missing from the show entirely last night, including Shenandoah, You're a Grand Old Flag, Oh My Darlin' Clementine, Home on the Range, and others. | |

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks Sometimes the posts in this forum are just absolutely ridiculous. Disney never promised an extravaganza nor is it in the shows name. They promised a celebration of our nation, and this show is just that. And what's up with all this "AHHHHH OMG MY LIFE IS ENDING BECAUSE THEY REUSED FIREWORKS!?!?!" Seriously people? I watched the youtube video previously posted, and I've lost count on how many times I've seen RDCT. I've noticed approx. 3-5 of the same effects/pyro used in this show as RDCT, plus the saxon pryo (spinning pinwheels). I don't see how anyone could cry because they reused some effects. Magical reused some pyro from RDCT, has any complained? No. Magical reused the Red Heart burst and the Smiley faces. You all should be happy, some of that pyro is completely custom and cannot be seen anywhere else. The 3D cubes, Red Hearts, Red/Blue Stars, the Smiley Faces, all custom made. If this is how we claim Disney as failures; then I automatically "FAIL" The Little Mermaid ride coming in DCA. Because it will REUSE the "Clam-mobiles" from The Seas in Epcot, and the omnimover technology from Haunted Mansion.... I also "FAIL" the new Cars E-Ticket ride coming to DCA because it will REUSE the same technology and idea from Test Track... |

| Proud 'Puff ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks To the complainers. I just watched the video, did you watch the same thing I did? It was fantastic! I think this is another example of people not being grateful for what they have. As we teach the Kinder's a work "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit" I like the Native American opener!
