Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

Some people just simply complain about everything.

Saying something FAILED is a pathetic way to get an opinion out.

If someone was watching the fireworks and thinking to themselves "I wish I was seeing the Remember show instead" instead of enjoying the patriotic music that is just downright pathetic.

"Very bad show" to have different fireworks around the 4th and on the 4th? Good god, Disney must be out to destroy peoples lives with this evil scheme...

See, this is when the certain hardcore Disney fans are made ugly compared to the casual or easy going Disney fan. Disney is not performing fireworks for your personal sake, they're putting on a fun show, nothing more. Enjoy it and live with it.

People getting all excited to complain about the use of some spare fireworks in a fireworks show is absolutely insane.

Perhaps a year off from Disneyland and no fireworks might make people appreciate them more.

Except Disney advertised a special fireworks show to be showing on multiple days.. which of course now we know is NOT the case. So yeah, it's not even misleading - it's flat out lying.

Disney knew damn well what the expectation is when you advertise 'a' show to be shown on multiple nights - it's a reasonable expectation that the show advertised to run on multiple nights... is the same show!

This is a true bait and switch.

I saw the show and I loved it!!! If you didn't like it you don't have to watch it!!! Disney doesn't have to have a firework show all the time. Be grateful that at least they do!!!

Indeed it is. Should we get the Orange County DA on the line Monday morning?

Indeed.

Great non-argument. It is not the guest's fault for watching and being dissatisfied when the show is not presented as advertised.

Disney lied when they said Disney's Celebrate America would be presented all four days. Plain and simple.

I'd like to see a Disney issued quote, newsletter, or website that said this show is special. As far as I've seen, they never called this show special, a extravaganza, or a nighttime spectacular. So what in the world is Disney lying about? How can you lie if you promise a fireworks, when you do such that.
A fireworks show is about fireworks, last I checked, this show has fireworks. It doesn't even matter what fireworks go off in the sky, it's still fireworks.

The only thing promised as special, was a "special" viewing of the show for 4 days instead of just 1. That alone, has nothing to do with the show itself.

If you want to call it a bait and switch, then you have no one to feel sorry for but yourself, as you felt for the bait.

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

The point is, guests who are visiting the Disneyland Resort this weekend may give a "rat's nostril" that the fireworks shows on the 2nd, 3rd and 5th are not the same presentation as the 4th. Since Disney is not making any effort to make this information known, Al Lutz and MiceChat members are calling Disney's bluff.

The show shown for yesterday and tonight was advertised as the SAME show that will be shown on the 4th.

How about Disney's own calendar?

Calendar

It specifically lists it not as 'fireworks' but as

Disney's Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky

Which is the same show advertised for the 4th of July and for the 2nd of July.

Disney didn't advertise 'fireworks' - they advertised a specific show.

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

When WDW previewed the new July 4th show at the MK last year, they didn't always use the full "in-the-round" effect, nor did they even use the island launch point until the show on July 3rd. And yet, nobody complained that the show was "half done" or that Disney was "lying." If TDA just took these showings off the calendar and advertised them as "previews," would we be hearing the same complaints?

Oh wait, we would. Magical held preview performances and people were already labeling the show as a finished product worthy of intense scrutiny, despite Disney never making any promises to the general public in attendance on those days.

Where, exactly, do we draw the line here? I'll admit that I don't like the fact that TDA reused a lot of leftover shells from Remember, but do we really have to go and accuse Disney of lying? IMO, that's going just a bit too far.

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

I'm gonna stop now, because we are arguing two entirely different problems. You and 2diefr are stating about the shows being different from 2,3,5 from the 4th. Which I can understand.

I'm ranting about the show itself, and to the people that are complaining about the reuse of remember pyro....

It's all good...

How do those toes taste?

You have Press Releases, and it's posted on Disneyland's Calendar - what else do you want? A scan of the entertainment schedule for the day? How deep do you want to bury your head on this one?

It's quite simple and has nothing to do with critics or Al. It's that people wanted to see the 4th of July fireworks show.. and it was advertised as being ran on these nights. It's not. There is nothing left to debate or defend. The facts are undeniable.

People wanted to see the show without the nightmare that is going to the park on the 4th. Disney came in like the savior saying 'hey, we're going to show it on the 2nd and 3rd too!' and they didn't.

Calling people names doesn't change any of the above.

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

I'm thankful for a patriotic fireworks show at Disneyland.

People are upset to the point where the lack of a couple minutes of different colored fireworks is a criminal act. Do I defend a large coporation? No. I point out idiocy.
