Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

Anyone have any shots or video of tonight? Also wondering about the traffic on that side of town. It took us an hour to get out of the Angels parking lot (11-4 Go Angels, Vlady had a homer with 4 rbi's!!) and once we were on the 57 it crawled all the way into Brea.

How was it?? Was anyone there tonight?

Video isn't mine, but here was the finale:

Not to get people all crazy again, but it was 9 minutes, no? Did someone say it was going to be 13?

Maybe this is part II or the person started taping late.

Regardless, it looks pretty spectacular.
That video is from either Thursday or Friday's show, not tonight's.

Oh how I miss how the finales used to be. My local fireworks put on a better finale than that (and mind you, the town is in the middle of nowhere and only has a population of around 5,000). Sad Disney, just plain sad.

Yeah, that was basically the show from the other night, because I saw the fireworks show tonight.

I must say, it was a great show! There were more red and blue fireworks than from what I saw on Thursday night. Even the grand finale, which was incredible in my opinion, looked like there were more red and blue fireworks thrown into the mix.

And yes, the show was indeed 13 minutes long.

It was packed, and we did have to walk about 15-20 minutes and use the Grand Californian path, but it was completely worth it!

So, it was a great show! Disney did a good job.

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

I really didn't have anything to add so thus far I managed to stay out of it. However I am curious what makes a shell a "leftover Remember shell"? I am pretty sure they order shells in bulk, and I have seen countless "Remember" shells used in other shows... so back to the original question... Is it the placement (meaning altitude)? Is it the timing (meaning a specific sequence in which it is fired)? What automatically makes it a "Remember" shell? One reason I ask is that I saw several shows tonight that used the Happy Face, Boxes, various shapes... so did they also borrow old "Remember" shells?

As to the 9 minutes vs 13 minutes debate... I would hope that if Disney advertised the 4th show on multiple days then it would be the same show on multiple days. Anything less I would consider to be false advertising. Especially considering people planned to be there on a specific day, extended vacations etc. due to this promotional. I don't date back very far but my memories of Disneyland "4th of July" specials were an additional 10 minutes or so of fireworks at the end of a standard show. I don't remember a custom show specifically for the 4th. If they did a custom show this year then great... but I honestly don't remember them doing that.

So for anyone who did go, did it match the previous days' entertainment? Was it an additional show? or was it something "new"?

For anyone who cares. I was at the Queen Mary in Long Beach tonight, and their show stunk. I wish I would have gone to Disneyland

Exactly! Thank you!

All current Disneyland displays borrow, to some extent, shells and effects from Remember, however, each nightly show (Remember, Believe Holiday, Magical) has its own unique stuff.

From what I've seen, the real 4th of July show borrowed from all three shows, along with custom ordered shells. The shows on the 2nd and 3rd were basically displays of Remember with the pyro rearranged and different music. Therefore, those shows were composed almost entirely of leftover shells.

It looks like what's used for Believe... in Holiday Magic's finale.

Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks

I didn't know about the whole shell issue when I saw the show on the 2nd and I really enjoyed it.

however, I did notice parts of RDCT in the show and also the use of mismatched shells, I was also suprised by the lack of red and blue shells but, I'm 99.9% sure I saw a few unique shells aswell.

That said, because of this thread I now really understand that I have crossed the line and have become a complete DL freak! Normal people just don't notice these things .
