![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks Well, can't really say anything about this one.. But my I did watch it with the family from our room/balcony at the GCH with the music! I do agree, there were many long pauses between segments and it could have been alot better. But I can say that we had to wait about 10-15 minutes to get from Katella to the grand californian. LOTS OF PEOPLE! And here we are just 3 innocent people who just want to get to their hotel room. :] All i have to say now is: BRING BACK REMEMBER!!! -- soo many memories. I could even sing all of the music that accompanied the fireworks! heh....watched it too many times.

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks So the finale was short, I'll give you that, but I felt that show was very Disney. Well designed (I loved the pause in the music, followed by the crackle of the fireworks near the end), and from the video it looked well paced. Guess I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about.

Me neither. Saw it in person on Friday night and I thought it was all very nicely done and patriotic......and very very Disney. Seemed a little short, but other than that no complaints here.

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks Hey I just finished a phone conversation with my buddy whos a CM and he said the finale was supposed to be better, but they had to cut alot of it out because of the wind. They didn't wanna chance anything. He also mentioned that they were going to delay the show at first to wait to see if winds died down but decided to start the show normaly |

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks It did seem like there were many oddly placed breaks in the fireworks. As I was watching it, I kept thinking to myself, "It feels like something is missing here...." Makes a lot more sense if they had to cut stuff cause of the winds! Then again, what exactly did they cut? It seemed like they still used all of the 9-line pyro effects, and there was even more castle pyro than the previous 2 nights. What could they have possibly added in? To me it seems more like an issue of improper timing of the effects more than a lack thereof. In particular, the Stars & Stripes Forever segment seemed to have a lot of dead space. Perhaps that's where stuff was cut and/or improperly cued? IMO, the Stars & Stripes Forever segment was actually executed better during the previous 2 shows. Sad that on the actual 4th they couldn't pull it off.

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks Al was correct. The show on the 4th was the real deal, with new shells and effects. It was longer, too. The versions on the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th, however, were shorter and used leftover shells from Remember.

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks I can definitely believe that some shells were cut due to the winds, there seemed to be a pretty good breeze going through above ToonTown last night just before it started. I'm sure, after last year, that they just wanted to get through the whole thing the best they could. I have to say it was a good show, it wasn't as amazing as the last one I saw at DL on the 4th (2006), which if I remember correctly was a full Remember show, followed by an additional section with the typical 4th music that was nearly as long as RDCT and an amazing finale.

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks It looks like there was alot of dead space in the firework show, after watching a video. Well at least they didn't stop the show or cancel it again. But it could have been better. My buddy was right,I'll have to thank him for the down-low. Well theres always next year to give it another shot |

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks Two points of contention. Not sure what constitutes a "leftover Remember shell" and possible false advertising on Disney's part. I am not sure how individuals can claim it is a "leftover" shell when the shells are bulk ordered and to my knowledge none of them are custom to Disney... that or other firework shows have managed to get really really really good copies... I don't think they used "leftover Remember shells" in their shows as well. That said Disney runs a nightly fireworks show, so any memorable shell is automatically tagged as "from this show". How many Remember shells were from Fantasy in the Sky? Obviously each show uses newer technology but the shells are usually generic... it's how they are placed and coregraphed that "makes" the show. Someone could dig up exactly how Disney worded this promotional. I know a lot of people who extended their vacations, and went to the parks early (2nd, 3rd) for the 4th of July fireworks. Clearly the 4th of July itself was the best show, and the longest show. If Disney did in fact advertise the same show on all 4 nights then it should have delivered the same show all 4 nights... that isn't fair to those who planned accordingly and went in good faith to see the show early! Again I am curious on exactly how Disney worded it.

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks Again after reading what Al posted I ended up calling the park prior to arrival to hear it for my self and was told that the show was the same on all 4 nights from time to shells all the same with no changes. |

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks This goes back to the "false advertising" comment I made a minute ago. The shows on the 2nd and 3rd paled in comparison to that on the 4th! I know people who extended their vacation in order to see the show on the 2nd. I also know a lot of locals who went to the park on the 2nd or 3rd specifically to see the fireworks. Many of them had other plans on the actual 4th, several had planned to be at Disneyland but changed their plans due to the promotional. Disney drummed up extra business by advertising the show all 4 nights. I am curious what the exact promotional wording was, because they clearly did not deliver the same show all 4 nights.

![]() | Re: Disneys July 4th Weekend Fireworks I didn't see the whole 4th of July show but watched the finale. I really liked the bit after the Star Spangled banner with the gold crackling mines form 9-line and the 4-5 gold mums in the air, repeating 3 times. I especially liked the red, white and blue shell of shells finale, similar to that of Believe.. in Holiday Magic. As for re-using shells, who really cares? Disney uses very few custom designed shells. Most are off the shelf and used by many pyro companies around the world. I don't think it makes a difference if they alter the show for different days. If you really think that is a problem, then see what WDW does. Last year the debuted Celebrate America on June 29th. It was not a mirror show. The version shown on July 1st used less than half of the fireworks seen in the full versions on the 3rd and 4th. Heck, Holiday Wishes and HalloWishes are different on different days as well. No perimeters are used for non party nights. That is not an issue with me at all.
