Why do alot of people want a Wall-E attraction?

How does the story and plot of Wall-E fit into that dedication? Although the film ends with humanity relearning to live with the earth the basic idea presented in the film is that humanity is all about products and commercialism and that we waste away all our resources. Do we really need an attraction tied into a film that shows us as being fat and lazy? What kind of outlook on the future is that?

I would have to disagree in that although it does not follow Walt's original intent of Tomorrowland, it would be a great wake up call for the world. Art is meant to shock and disturb and Wall E does that in a very mild form. I think a Wall E attraction would be great for tomorrowland. And lets face it, the real tomorrow doesn't look like it will be all cheerful and bright. I think by representing a bleak tomorrow, it will send out a message that we, as the earth's inhabitants have to change our ways to save our optimistic point of view of Tomorrow. But this is all just my opinion.

I agree, and that's a neat idea. I just hope they bring that "real Wall-E" character out here or fix it so they can.

The only way Wall-E could be represented in Tomorrowland is if it's set waaaaayyyy after the movies timeline. When everything is bright and shiny again after humanity's clean up. That still seems a little complicated and dark to me though.

Do they? Although I personally do not, in another thread I did say that it might be acceptable if there has to be a Pixar presence in Tomorrowland at all, so I thought I'd address that.

Very simply as a cautionary tale of where we might be headed if we don't change for the better. The rest of Tomorrowland could represent how the world could be if we did.

I'd say Wall-E falls under the "new frontiers in science" clause, the "challenge of outer space" provision, and the movie's ending promises "hope for a peaceful and unified world."

They actually have one made, but it never saw the parks. Have no idea why either, but that would make me happy and I would take that over a ride!

Tomorrowland does not need anymore Pixar attractions. How about returning to the theme of "A World On the Move" and not "A World of Pixar"?

If Tomorrowland were to have just one single Pixar attraction, WALL-E would be the best option...but that wouldn't make it a good option. Because you're absolutely right, Alpoe001 - the film presents a pessimistic view of the future that is fundamentally incompatible with Tomorrowland's brighter, more optimistic approach. That's not to say one is necessarily better than the other; I think they're both very valid and valuable approaches. But they are different. You can't just mix and match them and expect to have a product with any real cohesion.

Proponents of WALL-E attractions in Tomorrowland often cite the film's optimistic ending as satisfactory justification. But as far as I can tell, this constitutes a very large oversight. Do we really want an attraction that depicts oversized, barely mobile, technologically dumbfounded humans slowly rebuilding civilization on a planet that has only just begun to support life again? Furthermore, would WALL-E and Eve actually have any place in such a story? Not really. It'd feel contrived if they did. They were just the two robots who happened to be instrumental in humans returning to Earth; they'd likely be celebrated as heroes, but that's not to say they'd have much of a real role afterward. Wait hundreds or thousands of years, and civilization would surely return to a truly futuristic appearance, but by that time, WALL-E and Eve would be gone anyway, dramatically reducing the appeal of basing the attraction on the film.

But Tomorrowland's never been about a strictly realistic future, and it's distanced itself from strict realism more and more over the years. Just because a bright future appears unrealistic from the vantage point of modern cynicism doesn't mean there's no place for it in Disneyland. Disneyland is about escapism. People go there to have a good time. If a little education and eye-opening happens in the process, that is absolutely awesome, but let's face it...even basing a whole land around WALL-E's vision of the future would not alter the course of real-world history. People wouldn't change their habits; governments wouldn't change their policies; corporations wouldn't change their priorities. One pessimistic attraction isn't going to contribute to that happening...it'd just throw Tomorrowland into even greater disarray.

New attractions in Tomorrowland should work toward solidifying the land's purpose, no matter how tempting the merchandise tie-ins may be.

I like the idea of mobile animatronic Wall-E. In my opinion, the back story could be that Tomorrowland is the bright, beautiful new world created where the movie leaves off, and Wall-E is enjoying the great new society he in a way helped form.

Imagineering did make a wall-e robot designed to roam around.

There were rumors that it would make an appearance at California adventure, but those rumors have died off and since the movie is long out of it's hype phase, I don't see the figure making it's way into the parks.

However, it was a very impressive, lifelike figure and you'd think that it just hopped off the screen. I'm sure that a search on YouTube will reveal what I'm talking about.

First, if you watch the credits of Wall-E you see that Earth goes back to normal. Secondly, if you are so against the portrayal of humans as something that doesn't mesh with Tomorrowland, why do you believe that they need to be included in the attraction? It could very easily focus on just the robots.
