I rode it once with a nice couple from Australia. When the Evil Queen turned around as the Old Hag, the man in my vehicle screamed "It's yer muthaaa!" That was a scary ride for him.

I personally don't think that it is scary...slightly depressing, but not scary. When I went on with my sister she freaked out. She screamed so loud and there was this little boy behind us in the ride vehicle and he just thought she was crazy...he was not scared at all...

I think that it just depends on the person...

Some of you know my opinions on Snow White

    It freaks me out
    It always has
    I won't ride it

    yes I'm an adult....

I'm not afraid of much. Falling, the little girl in the ring and snow white about sum up my irrational fears.

Re: Is Snow White's Scary Adventure too scary???

And here I thought I could lurk peacefully...

First off, the mother joke made me fall out of my chair.

Second, in my personal (though maybe not so professional) opinion, if the movie creeped you out a little, the ride is likely too as well. Now, there are of course exceptions to this rule. I found Snow White creepy, but I sat with my friend during the ride and don't remember it scaring me at all. (Of course, my friend had realized the ride had a blacklight, and she was wearing a black shirt and a white bra...but, well you know...)

I don't view it as scary, dark and a little creepy in places, but not scary. Plus, this version not only pales in comparison to its former self, but also to a much better version at the Magic Kingdom.

My girls have been going on since they were 2 1/2. The first time the witch turning around startled them but did not scare them. WE go on it many times when we're there because they love it since it's one of their favortie movies. Mr Toad's Wild Ride really scared them.

Re: Is Snow White's Scary Adventure too scary???

The title of this thread and the poll ask two different questions. The poll only asks if the ride is scary; the title asks if it's too scary.

Yes I think the ride is scary, and that's why I like it. It might be too scary for some very young or sensitive children; that's why there's a warning right there in the name of the ride. I personally don't think that every ride should be sweetness and light; the original Disney movies certainly aren't. In fact, they all have scary and intense moments. That's one of the things that makes them gripping, captivating and memorable, and the same goes for the rides.

Unfortunately I don't remember the earlier version. I agree that the WDW version is much better, because of the far superior ending.

Remember, it is just a ride. We give it meaning.

Can anyone list a few things that were different and/or "scarier" about the original, pre-1983 version?

Re: Is Snow White's Scary Adventure too scary???

    Micechat is an interesting dichotomy:

On one hand I'll read through endless discussions about how the Disney company is ruining Disneyland by homogenizing it...then, a discussion about how one wants to remove an original ride for being "too scary".

Maybe the OP is right, we should rip a piece of history out and replace it with a ride featuring The Little Einsteins. While they're at it, why don't they also take out The Hollywood Hotel: Tower of Terror and replace it with The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
