I hope that they don't do an Animal Kingdom park.

I will be at DisneyWorld on April 29, 2011-May 4, 2011. If You Are Going The Same Time Message Me

Lol, they definitely do not have enough room for an Animal Kingdom type park, well, they could make it work actually, just not on a big scale, AT ALL.

If a third gate, whether it would a theme
park or water park, were to happen it needs
to be a park that is unique along with most
if not all the attractions that would inhabit it.

The Disneyland Resort does not need, yet
    another, cloned idea.

I do not consider them to be.

Some of those never realized conceptual ideas
such as Westcot, Port Disney, and Disney's America
were implemented in several of the Resorts we have today.
Such as in Tokyo DisneySea and California Adventure.

Granted many of those conceptual ideas were
revisited and redesigned but there are still remnants
from the original plans and ideas.

Ha, I wouldn't mind if it was an unrealized concept from the past, but if Disney EVER decided to open park number three in Disneyland Resort, boy if it were a clone... All faith in Disney would be lost.

I'd consider something like Mythia or Discovery bay to be acceptable though. Also, like most Disney fans, I'd really like a mysterious island in the third gate, maybe not as the ICON of the park, but at least a nice weenie.

And with Adventureland completely packed, it would be great to have 2nd Adventureland. There are so many themes that work great under the "Adventure" theme. Have an Aladdin Adventure Attraction, and move the Tahitian Terrace back to it's original place in DL). Then build an entirely new Swiss Family Tree House - larger than the original. Also a Lion King dark ride and an Jungle Book dark ride!.
Some of my favorite ideas thus far. Probably because ive discussed similar things to this in a past thread, but i believe something like this would be original and unique. What average vacationing east coast resident is gonna want to travel all the way to California for DL, DCA, and Westcot? Why dont they just go to florida...and basically(to the average tourist) they can get the same "stuff"...and more in many cases as WDW.

This is why DLR needs something else that is unique and new....but starts off successful and continues to be successful (cough cough DCA.)

Cool Re: Disneyland Resorts 3rd theme park

I would like a kind of cross between Epcot and Animal Kingdom. So it would have the pavilions and stuff, plus animal exhibits from that country.

So many possibilities with the Adventureland idea! You could have pirate Ships a giant lake.. Wow it could be so nice!

Since it sounds like space may be an issue - How about we get a bunch of carnival rides and theme the park after a smaller state, maybe Delaware ? .... ummm wait ......

Re: Disneyland Resorts 3rd theme park

I think that instead of worrying about a third park, we should focus on improving the resort overall. In order to accomplish this, I would (1) bulldoze Paradise Pier Hotel. Its ugly and provides bad sightlines for the "new" Paradise Pier. (2) Construct a new parking structure AND hotel (or 2) on the strawberry field lot, perhaps with a mini-waterpark. (3) Excavate the road that runs between DCA and the PP Hotel so that it runs under a land-bridge, much like the Downtown Disney landbridge up the street a bit. (4) Expand DCA fully into the entire plot of land where PP Hotel and its parking lot currently sits. This would provide a HUGE expansion pad for all of DCA's dreams.
