My wife and I were there, and it was a great experience (though most of my pictures didn't come out nearly as good as the ones in this thread). We're definitely participating next year, too!

Re: CHOC walk pictures (10/2)

My mom works for CHOC, she has been there for 18 years. Each year we try and do the walk. We have done a few together, just havent done any in the park yet. We always talk about it, but than something unfortunalty comes up. It is a wonderful hospital that is so wonderful to sick children and their families and it is also wonderful to their employees.

It was great to see the pictures, I can only imagine how wonderful (and emotional) it was that day. Thanks for sharing.

Question Re: CHOC walk pictures (10/2)

This is likely a really stupid question, but I won't know unless I ask -- other than seeing the park all shiny and clean, cool face characters and a great cause to support, is there anything more to the CHOC walk? We are planning a visit for October 2006 and are considering being there for the Walk (if we are lucky -- it would depend on when it falls as we are also trying to be down there for a birthday...). We walk for Walk America annually and have also done Heart walks, so we love supporting good causes and since my daughter was born very premature (16 weeks early) and has had heart issues, we walk because it makes us feel like we are doing something.

Ok, got a little tangented there... my point is this -- are there any neat "souveniers" for this? What does it require to earn a t-shirt?

Thanks!

The following information is for 2005's walk. As always, it may change a bit for next year.

You have to raise at least $25 to walk. That's the absolute minimum to be allowed to do the walk. At $75 you get the T-shirt. At $150 you get the T-shirt and a CHOC Walk pin. At $300 you get the pin, shirt, and a $25 gift certificate to Mimi's cafe. At $500 you get the pin, shirt, and 2 Disneyland park hopper passes. It goes on from there. Let me know if you'd like the rest of the levels (up to $3,500).

Now it's my turn to ask a question. I arrived at 6:40, got into the park about 7:00, and was on Main Street in front of the Cinema for the opening ceremonies. To those who got there sooner: when did you arrive and where were you on Main Street? I'd like to try to be closer to the front next year.

Thanks!

Great pics!

The Castle looks very proud there without the million guests standing in front of it like in my pics...

Congratulations on being part of the event!
