Will you be staying in a property hotel? There are all kinds of good deals going on right now at WDW if you need a package vacation (property hotel and parks entry). and, I think AAA is giving a little better deal that Disney.com is (by throwing in some extras).
Last trip to WDW I brought out my Disneyland AP at the gates of EPCOT and jokingly asked if it worked. Nope, of course, but the CM's commented that our passes are nicer the WDW's.
"Once upon a time there was a Magic Kingdom
made of hopes and childhood fantasies
A timeless place where every land was filled with wonder
A place where everyone who enters its gates will be given the gift of the
Young at Heart"
Disneyland ticket media, including APs, use a barcode system. WDW uses a magnetic stripe. The two systems aren't connected and are incompatible.
I was recently a passholder at WDW. They don't have an actual AP card. Basically, you purchase your pass at any ticket booth and they give you a paper ticket that's good for one year. There's no AP processing center. It's just a regular ticket sale that takes place at the ticket booth window.
Yeah, WDW APs are the same flimsiness as Disneyland's paper tickets. About the only thing a Disneyland AP will get you in WDW is a chance to tell the CMs who talk about how they want to visit Disneyland how great it is.
I love both places for different reasons, so I like to tell people when asked, about what makes Disneyland special.
