What's the "1st" attraction that is a "MUST" when you arrive at Disney D & DCA?

Okay, so we all have a "favorite" ride at both Disneyland, and DCA. I know theres lots of threads about your favorite ride(s) but whats a MUST for you when you 1st arrive at each park? (Regardless of time) Feel free to share your photos by or on the ride

#1 Disneyland's The Matterhorn! Okay, so this ride is my absolute FAVORITE! However, I am not able to ALWAYS ride it 1st..... or for that matter at all when I visit with certain friends. Most of my friends aren't huge fans of this ride.
Who could not enjoy this one?!!!!!

#2 DCA's CA SCREAMIN' - Need I say more?!..... (Okay, Okay, so perhaps I close my eyes at the begining of the Launch... ) But this is my first choice when given the opportunity with friends to ride this 1st!

    For Disneyland, Haunted Mansion.

    DCA, Tower of Terror.

If you couldn't guess those already, heh....

Every visit...it starts with Indy, then POTC then HM...for some reason I do it in that order every time haha. POTC is usually my last ride before I leave too! It's the best!

We always go on POTC first at Disneyland. We don't care how long the line is.

It's different every time. More often than not it ends up being Space, HM or Indy.
At DCA it also varies between ToT, Soarin' and Screamin'

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

While not necessarily a first ride of the day, Space Mountain is always the first fastpass ride of the day.

I don't even have to think when I walk in the parks. I just walk down main street, take a right, and get a fast pass for space all while thinking about that lies ahead in my visit.

It's not long before I find myself doing this unconciously.

I'm not all too sure about DCA, but when I get into Disneyland, I always make a beeline toward the Haunted Mansion. I have made it a habit for HM to always be the first ride of my trip and the last ride of my trip. Last month I had the pleasure of being the last load of the night on my last day. I felt special...

I always answer this question the same way...

Our kids get to decide which ride that we enjoy to start out the trip and to finish it off.

The kid that is celebrating his or her respective birthday gets the choice.

And yes, us adults (hey, we're kids!) get to pick when it's our b-day too!

    For Disneyland:

Pirates of the Caribbean of course. Always a family tradition. Then we rush to Indy.

    For Disney's California Adventure

Soaring Over California. Wait for the line, even though it is long. Get a fastpass after riding it.

DCA : TOT followed swiftly by TSMM

    DLR: INDY-POTC-HM
these rides set the pace for the rest of the trip...(TOT AND HM AND INDY are almost instant rerides if your there early enough...nothing like getting out and getting right back on

At DL, I like to start with Indy. That way I get to ride it at least once before it breaks down.
At CA, I usually start with Screamin' even though ToT is my favorite ride. I find the view at night much better than the view during the day.
