    7/12 Birthday Trip

I know its late but my birthday week was very exhausting.

Since I quit the park in 2007, I've told all my old co-workers that I would be back as an AP... well thanks to free admission on your birthday and mothly payments I finally got it!

Phillip and I got to the park about 10am and I was surprised that I found parking. After a quick breakfast at River Belle...MMMM Mark Twain plate... we met up with my friend Rob and his friend Harry.

We did a quick ride on POTC (no line), then a quick ride on HM (no line), then ended up at Pooh (no line).

Pooh even threw me a party!

After a quick snack at the Pooh Candy Shop, I noticed something interesting... an old sign of Bear Country!

yup that the old sign from Teddi Barra's Swingin' Arcade!

Since we had some time to go before we were to meet up with the KUMA group... we took a ride on the Columbia (which in my 27 years of going to the park, never been on). It was really nice, although because all these children were playing with the bow cannons, no shots were fired at Pirate's Lair. The below desks of the ship was cool... alot of detail - although the small slats in the windows made it hard for my big head to see some detail... thank goodness for Windows Live Photo Gallery!

    Captain's Quarters

When we disembarked there was a small "CHEESY" show goin on at the outside balcony of the Golden Horseshoe.

Since we still have about 20 minutes till the meet, we took a quick ride on the Mark Twain, and then off to Cafe Orleans. This was my first meet with KUMA, which is a social group of the "Bear" community. There was about 36 guys in all... since there was a long wait for a table at Cafe Orleans we trotted over to French Market. WHY DID THEY HAVE TO REMOVE THE FRIED CHICKEN FROM THE MENU?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!? after the quick bite to eat 29 of us met up over at Splash. The look on the loaders face when we told him, LOL!!!! Phillip and I were at the front of the group so we ended up getting put in the front row of a families boat. and let me tell you TALL PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE FORCED INTO THAT FIRST SEAT!!!!!!! I had no space for my arms and ended up getting my left elbow cut on one of the drops. Luckily it stopped bleeding by the time we got to unload.

Since we were all drench from Splash we decided to dry off at BTM (in our case it meant Blowdry The Men)...suprisingly there was a very short line.

some of the guys from the group.

at this point we had about 32 people in the group... we ended up taking a whole train. Now a "Bear" is usually a larger burly guy... so 32 guys ranging from 190 upto 370. So when the train takes off we all noticed that the train was going very fast... but when we got to the "C" lift - the lift hill with the moving rocks, The ride goes 101... apparently the lift chain was trying to go tooo fast for how slow our heavy train was going... LOL!

group member and Paulie Bear, right as show conditions were turned off

Phillip and Me, waiting for CM's to get us out

the "5500 Club" being walked off the ride

Now how do I know we broke down the ride? Well one of my old CM friends was working BTM and she told me it was the train on "C" Lift...LOL!
Well I got my BDay wish... I finally got to walk the BTM track!

After we got our ride passes - we decided to head over to Space... and see if we could break it down as well LOL - j/k The CM in the Fast pass line had no clue what to do with our big group and had to call the station LOL!

    Now over to.....

I'm so going to miss this entrance!

First we got Fastpasses for Soarin' then we headed over to TOT... this had to be the longest line we had to wait in all day... about 45 minutes.

    never noticed this window before

Our Bellhop... we made her laugh so much she couldn't spiel properly

half our group... the rest were in another elevator

It was just time for our Soarin' Fastpasses, so we headed over... we took up 1.5 sections. Then it was time for dinner we tried over at Trattoria, but they didnt have enough time to accomidate our large group... so we headed back over to Disneyland and to Zolcalo (which I had never been to before)... they were just prepping to close up and they freaked when we walked in the doors. It was way too expensive for the quality of mexican food we got!. When we got out to the tables we noticed that BTM was still down!!! LOL

after eating we watched Magical (small but cute), then headed over to F! (the new croc was cool, Flotsam and Jetsam was awesome, Murphy was stil MIA, although I saw them working on him earlier that day), then ended the night over at Pixie Hollow (very cool show, loved the music). All in all it was the best birthday I had ever had!!!!

The End - now home to Neverland!

    Re: 7/12 Birthday Trip

So are they allowing people to walk through Pixie Hollow at night now?

It's odd because one time I went and people were just walking through it casually taking pictures (this was of course rather late at night). About ten minutes later CMs quickly escorted everyone out of the queue and picture area and blocked both the exits and entrances with trashcans.

Do they still do this or have they given up? I realize the place is rather enclosed so there couldn't be any large means of security if the area were to stay open, which is somewhat concerning.

You never know what kids will want to write here and there with their sharpies when nobody's looking, if you know what I mean.

On another note, it's great to see that HTH CM put the effort to stay in character .

You all didn't go on POTC? That is THE ride to go on whit a bunch of heavyset people. The splash coming off the waterfalls sometimes gets you just as wet as compared to Splash! And if you're lucky the boat will stall and you'll get to do an evac!

Good pictures though. Looks like a lot of fun!

I walked through Pixie Hallow at night, no problem. This was about a week ago.
