Wouldn't a Chinatown in DCA be neat?

I just got back from DL (weekend) and we did our obligatory couple of hours
in DCA. And while walking by the Wharf area and the Boudin bread area
    one thought hit me.

Walt loved SF's Chinatown and he was thinking of putting one in DL at one
time. And since that works really well w/ the CA theme of DCA, why not
put a real looking (narrow streets) Chinatown there? Chance for a lot of
nice theming, and can even put on a Chinese New Year celebration (every
weekend night) and a nice sit down Cantonese restaurant. Wouldn't take
up too much room as the restaurant could be downstairs or upstairs (just like in Chinatown!) It could even be very similar to NOS in DL.

    What do you think?

I think it would be really nice! They could have a nice dark ride (Mulan much? I know how much all of you hate that idea ALREADY) and restaurant...
Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

Heck, I think there was a Love Bug in SF! And you could throw in a Boatnik scene.

There is a lot they could have done (excuse me, SHOULD have done) with San Francisco... Golden Dreams, though honorable in intention, is NOT one of them.

I think they should have working cable cars run from the plaza to the pier... But installing something would take $$$... I think they could come up with something suitable however with something slightly differant than the cable pull technology...

There simply needs to be more transportation based rides in DCA... things that move people from one end of the park to the other at a leasurely pace...

Yeah, the whole concept of a Chinatown could be great and fit in with the DCA theme. There is so much that was missed with DCA. I feel as though the idea of a California themed park isn't entirely flawed as a concept, there are many foreign visitors to the park that never intend to travel outside the realm of the resort, so it allows them to quasi-experience the entire state. However, execution and theming weren't up to par. With this said, yes, Chinatown would fit in nicely.

Yeah, that's a great idea- but don't hold your breath waiting for it to happen.

I think it would be a wonderful addition. It would not have to be too large, just a small section with a lot of atmosphere.

Re: Wouldn't a Chinatown in DCA be neat?

I'm going to be the only opposing voice here....and I'm going to sound hypicritical because NOS is my favorite part of DL but here goes....

EDIT: you know what? I had all these arguments but then I wrote the following comment and changed my own mind.....ah it a womans perogative....
I think it could be a very cool addition to DCA...but I don't think it would be enough....

A Mulan ride, a restaurant, a parade all would be beautiful, it would fit in the DCA theme and I would go but I think the charm would always be lacking....you can't have it without having the community that makes Chinatown what we all want to add to Disney....
