What would you put in Bugs landsí place?

So I think we can all agree that A Bugs Land doesnít necessarily contribute to DCAís theme. And although itís a mildly interesting place to go, itís a waste of real estate. So my question is, what would you put in its place? Would you expand Hollywood pictures Backlot, keep it, or build an exclusive members only land? What do ya think??

Members only land? That's crazy. I'd like to see a myths/legends of California land.

I'd keep bugs land there. It's a good area for young kids and while it not a good fit for the California theme it is a well made land that relly give you the feel of being a bug with the oversized decorations. It's a well crafted land for sure.

I agree, it's about the only place to go with youngsters. But I'd like to think that after 2012 there will be enough attractions that the whole family can ride, which is why it would be plausible to replace Bugs.

I'm not a huge fan of Bugs Land. In fact I haven't been in there in well over a year. It's kinda like ToonTown to me. Once you go through once you really don't need to go through it again. At least for awhile. I too would like to see a sci-fi/legends area featuring Bigfoot, UFOs, and other similar paranormal things that are related to California.

I'd turn it into Hannah Montanaland! Hey, it's filmed in California! Doesn't that work with the CA theme? LOL Anyway...I'd have to go with the OP's suggestion and use the area to expand Hollywood Pictures Backlot. There is so much that could be done with the history of Hollywood. The land could truly be magnificent if given the time, love, and space it needs to truly thrive.

I typed in California Fiction on wikipedia and found a link to hanah montanah!!OY VEY

I found the book Ramona, which is supposed to be an important book in CA history. So I'll read it and see if it has good material for a theme park. It would be interesting to see a land that culls inspiration from John Steinbeck, in the same way Discovery Bay takes from Jules Verne.

I think it fits okay. It fits in with the whole harvest theme outside, kind of. Also I like to pretend that I'm a bug in the garden of ToT.

Cool Re: What would you put in Bugs landsí place?

Keep it for sure. But, in order to make it California themed, add huge In-and-Out hamburger boxes.

If we keep it I would like the costumes to change! Have you seen them? They're so ugly! Most castmembers wear the shorts just to avoid the overalls! LOL

Extend the national park theme, that Grizzly Peak
will eventually receive, to a Bug's Land.

Eliminate the 'bugs' theming and attractions.
Create new and original attractions for families
to enjoy together not just for small children.

And maybe a darkride that would feature
Chip and Dale. Or even better Humphrey the bear.

Agreed. As in the Fantasyland/DCA thread, I would love a Donald DUck and Chip and Dale attraction. Either A roller coaster thru Giant Redwood trees that is themed with Donald and his friends.

A Bug's Land should be replaced.

We have been discussing this and DCA in:

    Final Fantasy and Disneyland/DCA Nightmare

I personally like the land... its the only rides in the parks fully geared towards toddlers. But I think they should have also have it themed to the Bugs promoting green living and organic produce.

but who knows whats going to happen to the land with the addition of the back entrance .

Carsland doesn't fit the CA theme either and it's not even built yet...so, what should we put there instead??

Spanish Square. The Spanish Art Decco of the Carthay blends into the walls of a Spanish Mission, covered with creeping flowing and covered walkways. The area would look like a Spanish courtyard with an ornate fountain in the middle. Here you could create darkrides based off of stories such as Romona, Zorro, and other SoCal western icons. The Mission building could also hold a version of Western River Expedition. Between the square and Carsland I would have a mountain containing a relocated Muholand Madness themed to a calico mine cart that whips in and out of shafts and tunnels.
