a single movie for a land does seem a bit of a stretch.. the merchandise alone is bad enough..with mattel behind the cars craze they are everybit as big as hot wheels with playsets galore..it rivals star wars..... but does this constitute a whole land? i dunno
apparently someone thinks it does.. im excited about it yes but worried about longevity of the attention beyond just 1 movie....look at pirate island..its not doing well at all and there are 3 films(currently)
I also hope they change the overall name of the land.
From what i have seen that is the name being used to explain the land as a whole.
The land will then basically be divided into sections with one area being radiator springs and other areas with lots of references to route 66.
That alone will give them a chance to further expand the inner workings of the land by focusing on either the route 66 aspect or the radiator springs aspect of the land.
hopefully the other attractions that are supposedly in a blue sky phase ad future additions will focus on the car culture/route 66 aspect to help balance of the feel of the area.
Now, I'm not going to try and make some grand argument, but I just wanted to add my two cents. While the name "Cars Land" seems a tad generic, it at least could fit in to California Car Culture. Hot Rods, Drive-Ins and the like. That would be more of a general theme, sure, using the film "Cars" as a sort of template. Now I will back away and let those who are better at making these arguments once again have the floor.
Remember, Dreams come true!... and mermaids are hot, even on Halloween.
It all depends on if its a hit with the kiddies IMHO. I agree with the dislike for Carsland as a name and the movie as a land. Now a dessert slash cars area i feel would be cool and maybe a ride from Cars like TSMM or TLM. However, if the kids love the area and beg mom and dad to go me Mattor and McQueen then the place will be a splash hit.
Just please please move them from Condor Flatts!

and you know.. since they are really good with nameing things...notice its not nemos sub voyage....that would have at least lent some origionality...instead its the finding nemo sub voyage.keeping to the movie title...so on that note...we could still be stuck with carsland
