It becomes a habit!
Party Hats and Horns are handed out at designated locations
at about 6pm. Eventually hats are placed on Walt and Mickey
at the Central Hub, and sometimes other interesting locations,
such as the gargoyles in the stretching room of the Haunted
Mansion. Pirates of the Carribean often times becomes a game
of toss a hat on a pirate late in the evening. Bands play at
several locations throughout both parks: Tom Sawyer Island/
New Orleans Square, Tomorrowland Terrace, DJ Music in front
of Small World Holiday, in fact by early evening the traditional
music of Main Street and the rest of both parks, makes way
for party music ~ totally changes the entire atmosphere!!!!!!
Don't expect to get on many attractions, just plan to have
fun with friends.
DCA has DJ Music playing at Paradise Pier and all the way up
and down the parade route, in Hollywood, and sometimes Condor
Flats.
At 11pm at the central hub at DL, a tradition of gigantic beach
balls being tossed all around begins, at this usually crowded
location. Usually some special entertainment at the Castle
or at least a countdown to New Years.
If you want less crowded, DCA has some pretty good things
happening, dl hub area is usually a total standstill, and don't
plan on moving around that area very much. Small World area
usually has a young crowd than the rest of the park.
A few years ago DL was open until 3am, a couple years ago
they changed to 2am. But it is always fun to go to pirates
and see the people sleeping in there boats, just before they
exit the ride.!
Both Parks are really fun New Years Eve, but if you go to
DL, plan for crowded standstill crowds all day. Still a lot of
fun.
If you want less crowds, but still fun, DCA is the better choice.
