Can you have fun on a guided tour?

So we all know that celebs are people too, and just like normal people they enjoy a day at Disneyland. But is it possible to have fun and explore the park while being escorted by a plaid? Can a celebrity family enjoy a day at Disneyland when they sometimes have to access rides via backstage route?

    what do you think?

EDIT: this question is purely speculatory. I don't have any experience being a celebrity.

Yeah, this question doesn't really apply to me.

I'd imagine that being able to go to Disneyland, assuming you like it there, is better than not going at all. And surely there must be some perks involved - I think I could stand being escorted backstage and skipping a couple queues here and there.

I'm sure it's more fun to do what you want to do and not have to worry about it, but I know they try pretty hard to let celebs have their fun without getting harassed. And I mean, it's SoCal - it can't be that much worse than any other crowded public place.

Yes, but I'd make/pay the tour person to come on the rides with me so I can still have a tour and ride rides at the same time.

Who says its their only option? I don't think that it is, just most of them prefer it. Can you imagine how great it would be to have a cast member at your every call while in the parks? Last I checked all people who want a private tour guide (Celeb or no celeb) have to pay the $125 an hour. And from what I was told it is up to the parks as to if they person is a big enough celeb to get to pass the lines and/or go backstage.

I LOVE tours! They are so fun!!
Then again, I'm not a celebrity. I'm sure depending on the celebrity they may have fun and they may not.

Well, I'm a tour guide, and yeah - I think most of the time we do a pretty good job of making it feel natural for the Guest and not like a tour. For one thing, it's not like the normal guided tours where there's a set route and things to say; it's entirely up to you where we go and what we do. It's easier to think of the VIP tours more like a personal, walking concierge service; we'll make you reservations and have places reserved for you to watch shows from and show you the best routes to get to all the things you want to do or see, but it's entirely up to you what we do through the day. We know our way around better than most (you could say when we're on tour, it's one big gumball rally!)
Some big celebs who would otherwise get mobbed do get tucked backstage for a bit to get out of a crowd, but I think you'd be surprised how rare that is. Most of the time, if we're doing our job right, Bono will walk right past you and you won't realize it was him until 5 minutes after we've disappeared.

Wow, RumRunner31, sounds like a pretty neat job at DL. So, for $125/hr what would a family get to do? I've heard that DL guides are very, very good and make the day very memorable. What happens on the tour? Many thanks for your information.

Note that celebrities are people too... so they don't go to Disneyland hoping to spend the any time backstage (As rumrummer31 said, it's rare, but it does happen). It's no where near as fun to see the backs of buildings and cast break areas.

Everyone would rather see the lovely store facades and hear the Main Street loop....

There I was somewhere West of Tomorrowland
Flying through the stars just like
    Peter Pan
I said...Dang this looks too good to be true...

It's a nice day when you wake up in
    Disneyland...

I think it might be fun, no lines, you dont have to pay to get in and stuff I love going backstage, even if its just for crowd control during a parade or for an evac, it's really fun to see everything behind the scenes

Guided tours are the what you get when you mix not really having to wait in line, with learning cool information nuggets, with gallavanting around with the greatest people ever created, and throw some pixie dust on top. You might even solve a mystery or see some ghosts. Or just spend a lot of time singing and/or dancing.

VIP tours are lovely as well, however not quite the same thing. I believe the recipe is similar, but also includes paparazzi and sore feet.

    That is all.
