oh, that is fantastic!!!! And notice the riders in the blue Dumbo behind Gonzo!
(oops, I'm late to the comment)
pssst, I'd consider that picture Re-Clucked, rather than Re-tweeted! ;)
this should be fun.
notice the puppeteer holding up gonzo. That must be an uncomfortable position. It looks like he is sitting upside down on the floor of the Dumbo. You could see his left leg in blue jeans
So are the Muppets celebrating! :)
I wonder what there main purpose is going to be, i just dont see Disney pulling them out of the closet for no purpose other then something big!
Very awesome pic.
So do you think that was Dave Goelz in there, or a stand-in?
To make a good use of the Muppet/Hensen franchise, they should make a LAbrynth walk-through with David Bowie doing voice-over work. Just one of the several armchair Imagineering ideas I have in my head (and I have a few).
Of course, Disney could certainly license the Labrynth property for a decent price, because like I said, it's a great idea.
I think the muppets may be in for a bit of a renaissance pretty soon. I read a while ago that Jason Segel (the big oafish guy from I Love You Man, How I Met Your Mother, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) had a deal in place to do something new involving the muppets since he is obsessed with them. He's a pretty hot commodity right now, so I expect this project to go forward. Since this ad campaign is scheduled for 2010, Disney is probably expecting to take advantage of the hype from the new project.
Al's update from today:
Editor's Note 8/12: Seen the Muppets at Disneyland yet? Cool, eh? - Al Lutz
I heard that Fozzie was on the Jungle Cruise yesterday and Animal was on the Mark Twain.

^thanks for sharing. the muppets are always funny and i love the penguins.
Peglegin is what you said true? were they filming for the commercials.
So presumably the Muppets are hosting next years promotion, right?
"...commercials and publicity packages for the 2010 marketing blitz. It's shaping up to be a rather clever campaign..."
Don't get me wrong, I like the Muppets, but isn't 2010 the 55th? Seems a little strange that an acquired franchise and not necessarily widely recognized DISNEY name is involved with this kind of 'milestone.'
55th i dont think is something of a huge milestone i would be more concerend if they were the 60th ad campaign. To me it just seems like they need a comeback and the time is right to re-educate the children and adults of who the muppets really are.
