Rumor Muppets Part Of 2010 Promotion?

According to Al:

The Muppets will invade Disneyland next week! On Tuesday several days of filming will begin all over the park with many of your favorites for commercials and publicity packages for the 2010 marketing blitz. It's shaping up to be a rather clever campaign, and it at least should ease up a bit on the last few years of schmaltz.

What are oyur thoughts? As long as it is not so overboard, I like the Muppets.

hmm...possibly a publicized event for their new ride in Hollywoodland...lol jk.

I like the idea always like the muppets and i always attend their 3d show every time i go. So why not, we could use some characters besides Pixar folk walking around.

I hope this means that they're putting Mickey's Philharmagic into the new theater on Buena Vista Street rather than where Muppet-Vision is... but at the same time I don't think they would put three 3-D movies in the same park

I hope this means Disney might actually DO something more with the Muppets than mediocre made for TV movies and internet marketing! I know they're not exactly in-house creations, but come on! What good is owning them if they're not being used to their fullest potential!

Sorry... I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Henson fan, and the way the Muppets have been used by Disney is something I tend to really heavily scrutinize. At least there's the wonderful Muppet Show comic by John Landridge out these days.

I LOVE the Muppets. I got to have a private tour once of the studio in Hollywood and met Steve Whitmire when they were testing the Dr. Honeydew thing with Beaker in DCA. I would so be in the Park this next week to watch the filming if I wasn't blocked out!!! Please please please, someone take some photos next week and post them.

I'm glad my Muppets are getting some love.

Maybe they are doing the Muppets promotion they planned in the 90s? The Fab Five go on vacation and Kirmit turns Disneyland into FrogLand with a green matterhorn, and Cirmits head in the flower garden ... it will be halarious and funny to see the insane disney people go crazy against it.

yeah i dont think they are going to go thaat far. but i liked the muppets 3d show so it cool theyr gettin some attention

Interesting, very interesting.

I love the Muppets and would be so glad to see them used more in the parks. I wonder though if this is to promote the new feature length Muppet movie that Jason Segel (of How I Met Your Mother, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, etc.) is directing.

I'd actually prefer that to the never-ending "How will you celebrate what's your dream (with confetti blast!)" promotion.

Yeah, it's far more original than these overly generic promotional gimmicks they've been coming up with.

Heck, even their parades and fireworks (and Hotel Tower names) have been reduced to one word cliche's like "Dreams," "Magic," "Celebrate," etc...
