Looks almost identical to me...even down to the font.

EDIT. Reading a little more carefully, I noticed that you mentioned BVS, not the entrance - sorry about that.

^ Maybe Hollywood Studios in Florida is a prehash of this?

Yeah, my bad. Thats what I thought we were talking about. But yeah, the entrances do look very similar.

Now I'm curious, does anyone have good pics of Hollywood Blvd from DHS? I always thought it looked more like DCA's little backlot area, but maybe I'm wrong.

I, too, have an issue with the entrance itself. Just the turnstile area, not BVS.

Does anyone think they will mix up the coloring of the faux stonework on the central part of the viewing area? The other stonework on either side is more eclectic, color-wise. Too many conflicting patterns and ideas is what made the pier so miserable in the first place.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VII

Definitely the entrances are identical. BTW, thanks for the photos (I was going from memory). That was the bulk of what I meant, but even the Spanish architecture of the Buena Vista Street concept art reminds me of the Sunset Blvd. area in the Florida park.

Although, I suppose that there are only so many ways to recreate Spanish stucco architecture... Someone who has been to the Florida park more than I have will have to judge it. Any pics?

P.S. For all of you that live so close to DL: A) I'm totally jealous, B) THANK YOU for posting update pictures so often!!!

Um, yep. The new D/CA entrance definitely looks like its design is heavily inspired by the entrance for DHS. Let's just hope it looks a bit more classy, as it does in the artwork. There are some subtle differences that make a difference, as long as the end result stays pretty true to the concept art. But what are the odds on that?

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VII

Does anyone of you DCA experts know what this hole with light behind it is? It's from the waterfall on the back of Grizzly Peak:

Both entrances are based on the entrance to the old Pan Pacific Auditorium in LA:

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VII

I'm hoping that Buena Vista Street's architecture looks as rich as something like Balboa Park in San Diego, but them, I'm a bit biased:

I hope the Carthay Circle theater looks much nicer than the one at DHS. I also hope it's bigger.
