That would look really cool, but i also read somewhere that they were getting rid of the golden bridge all together?! not sure though.

Yes, they are. Doesn't fit thematically.

although i like the idea of a a mission style turnstyle i think it would be overkill. I think the Pan Pacific Auditorium will add a beautiful contrast to Disneyland.

All the architecture in BVS street will not be mission. The turnstyles as well as the gas station and other facades closer to the new hub will have some art deco influence.

i think it kind of works and gives the entrance some variety

I'd also read that the California Zephyr (the train) would remain.

Of course now I can't find any information on either of these and plans at Disney tend to change like the seasons in the early phases of a redesign.

Anyone, please feel free to set the record straight. I could be wrong about both.

Thanks
no the bridge will not be a covered wooden bridge. It will be an art deco bridge designed after one of the bridges in Los angeles. I can't seem to remember the name of the bridge they are using for reference

sadly the train facade is leaving but that area will be turned into a nice sit down eatery with patio seating and lush landscaping for people to relax while enjoying a nice lunch or dinner.

Train... yet another great idea that could have been incorporated into Rt. 66 or Condor Flats or somewhere... a zephyr train would be pretty cool imo. I'm not sure where or how it'd fit in, but it'd be pretty cool.

Also, I think on the bridge they used on the model will cover the monorail, but still look good and not totally block out the monorail. It is rather plain though, but then again, it's a model.

I really hope somewhere in here, we get an attraction that's not based on characters or anything... something inspiring or serious-ish, something like Horizons, Spaceship Earth, Universe of Energy, or World of Motion was in epcot. Make it an experience. Make it a life changer. Can't wait for the new DCA to come.

(sorry if my posts aren't tracking or joining in the arguements, but I really do enjoy sharing oppinions and ideas here... and hearing everyone elses.)

even though the architecture in those pictures is located in california and is keeping with the california architecture, making the architecture themed after something in san diego would not be keeping with the theming ideas of WDI. WDI is modeling the entrance after los angeles, not san diego, and wants to make it look what walt would have seen when he stepped off the train station in los angeles.

When the construction walls go up in the esplanade for BVS I hope they pt up artwork and pics al a blue sky cellar on the walls to show people what is coming. Maybe they could even put the model of BVS in the esplanade

Glendale Blvd., I think. It's the bridge onto which Bennie the cab jumps in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?.

Well, there are Official Memos, and then there are "official memos". Until there is a press release announcing the change, the change is no more than a RUMOR!

Yes, Space Ranger Spin opened much earlier, but it was not built into a CircleVision and has some differences.

Disney has no motive to issue a press release about cracking down on what employees call the park. You're just insinuating that the idea is made up and that the park's Cats Members have not been told to use "California Adventure".

Well I've been calling it California Adventure Subconsiously to guests since day one. Although that memo was refering to when we speak to our fellow Cast Members, but you know, it's not often that we talk about our own park because there are other pronouns. Maybe in Disneyland, but it's a lot easier to say California Adventure than Disney's Califorina Adventure.

Hey MiceChatters!

I thought it would be fun to see just how many posts we have made
together as a community throughout all these DCA Project Tracker threads.
(Considering we usually go over the 2000 maximum post count,
so its not just a 2000 x 6 equation. )

Here are the numbers:

Tracker 1:

2044 posts

Tracker 2:
2015 posts

Tracker 3:
2075 posts

Tracker 4:
2019 posts

Tracker 5:
2009 posts

Tracker 6:
2033 posts

Add those up and that is....
12,195 posts!

Whew! That is a lot!! Keep up the MiceChatting, MiceChatters!

---------------------

And adding in what we have so far from this Project Tracker
(12,195 posts + 89 posts), that is.....
12,284 posts!

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VII

I have to say that I'm not a fan of the new entrance if that is indeed what they will end up doing. My dislike for this design is primarily because of the teal color which is kinda drab and off putting in my opinion. Another thing is that the art deco design itself reminds me more of old grungy high school gyms and theaters than something more classy, (and less defined) architecturally that will withstand time (see DL's entrance gates). Finally, I just think it would be nice that each park (not counting MK parks), had their own unique front gates. But then again it's just one person's opinion ; )
