What do you find "comical" in the Haunted Mansion?

I notice that everyone keeps referring to the ride as both scary and somewhat comical/whimsical.

What about the ride brings about these sensations?

The only part I can refer to is the graveyard music as you first enter. Just makes me want to get up and start shaking my booty.

Other than that, I'm having trouble finding the comical effect.

In the beginning of the ride there's a guy in a coffin and you can see his hand trying to lift the lid up and the Ghost Host said something funny about it. I forget what it was, they recently took the little psiel out. I thought it was funny but weird...

There is a lot of comedy in the Mansion:

The ghost in the casket trying to push the top off "Let me out, let me out"

The bagpipe player in the graveyard. The comically over-done opera diva singing on your way out of the Graveyard.

Most of the faces are very round and cartoonish.

Even the sayings on the tombstones are all intended to be gallows humor. Creepy, but just funny enough not to be gruesome!

I personally dig the frog with the bow on his head in the pet cemetary. Makes me laugh every time...

I always found the stretching room pretty funny. I mean, the actual phrase "your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, almost as though you sense a disquieting metamorphosis" is hilarious for some reason. The CM spiel with the corny puns always get me ("kindly drag your bodies away from the walls towards the dead center of the gallery") and I wish they were allowed to improvise a little more like the JC skippers.

"All of our ghosts have been dying to meet you..this one can hardly contain himself"

    or something to that effect

    i miss the old spiel
Especially the "She has a REMARKABLE head.." line..would crack me up everytime.

I also like the "Dead End" sign at the end of the ride

Oh, and the little "hurry back" ghost (what's her name?) is also pretty funny. How tall is she anyways? Rofl.

Let me turn the question around and ask the OP: of the dozens, if not hundreds, of nearly wall-to-wall sight gags, verbal jokes and visual whimsy in the Haunted Mansion, which ones don't you find humorous?

You can start the list by giving your opinion of the items mentioned in the posts above.

There is nothing humorous about the bride wearing the same wedding gown for all her marriages...it's tacky.

I frankly always found the cartoonish wallpaper in the hallway to be amusing.
