Re: What's the story behind the Christmas tree?

Yup it's real. That is one of my pet peeves during christmas time, seeing guest pull off some needles just to see how real it is! Close to the end of the season the bottom branches are a little bare due to everyone pulling off needles.

Then you hear them asking what is this green stuff around the needles. Once I heard a guest state that the "stuff" sprayed on to the tree was Pine Tree Freshener. too funny!

Re: What's the story behind the Christmas tree?

When does the tree go up, the day after Thanksgiving? Or does it take a few days? At home I'm out hunting for the perfect tree at about 10 AM the day after Thanskgiving and I've got it decorated and all disneyfied (I made that word up!) by about dinner time!

Wow, I need to start planning for Christmas.... hmmmmm what will the theme be this year?

But thanks! For adding me to what is surely a long list of things to ask City Hall, haha.

Well, the past two years I've been there the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving, and the tree is already up at that point, and beautiful as ever.

Re: What's the story behind the Christmas tree?

Well, when I hired in at the end of October, they drove us around backstage and they actually had the Christmas tree back there already, so it's prepared far in advance for the Christmas season... but oh so beautiful isn't it?

Re: What's the story behind the Christmas tree?

Well I would say look for the Christmas tree to be put up the week before November 11. The 11th is when Small World Holiday opens up and the Remember fireworks go back to 7 days a week. This will be a week later then the past years for Christmas to get going, but still is too early for a lot of people.

Re: What's the story behind the Christmas tree?

Just wanted to let everyone know the tree is here!!!
(it showed up yesterday 10-17)
its backstage and can be seen from the M&F tram just past the Magic Way gate before the turn into Downtown Disney!
Check it out this week and you'll see what it looks like without all of the enhancments!

Re: What's the story behind the Christmas tree?

I love going to DL at Christmastime and smelling and seeing the tree.

Although what will this do to the "Remember" viewing from the Train station?

The tree is WAY taller than the castle.

Re: What's the story behind the Christmas tree?

It goes up, along with all of the Christmas decor, on November 1st. We've been to DL two times in the first week of November (our third is in two weeks) and the cast members told us that the frenzy of activity on October 31st has to be seen to be believed.
