I've heard tale that the carnival confection is sold down Main Street somewhere but I've never actaully looked for it. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

They're sold at the Mint Julep Bar and the Hungry Bear, and possibly one or two other places.
But take my advice -- only eat the funnel cakes from Knotts. They are way much better!

I actually prefer it from either Knotts OR 6 Flags, they taste just the same to me

They also sell funnel cakes in the little place right next to the Golden Horseshoe. I forget what the name of it is; but its right next to the outdoor seating area that people use to watch Fantasmic.

As nice as the other parks are, we must always remember that it all began at Disneyland. Disneyland should be the crown jewel in the Disney crown.

Last month, I was in the parks celebrating my daughter's birthday and we shared a brownie funnel cake from the Stage Door Cafe. It was great!! Way better than I remember from previous times. I will have to try one again next time we go to see if it is just as good!!
I enjoy the funnel cakes at DL. I usually get them plain with powdered sugar, but I am thinking of trying the strawberry. They are about 1/2 the size of the ones at Knott's (in terms of height, not diameter, you see), but I still find them worth the 5 bucks and change. I usually get them from Stage Door, but as others have pointed out, they are also at the Mint Julep Bar and Hungry Bear. Nothing like a funnel cake and hot chocolate to wrap up a chilly evening at DL!
I don't know if they're sold in DCA. I've been keeping an eye out, but haven't seen them.
They sell them at the Farmers Market in DCA... I am not sure of where else there
