One thing that i am happy to say about watching murphy in person was that in the promo video you could really see a bend in the neck right before her head. Although tonight, watching her in person, i did not see it as much.

From the angle I was at I couldnt see her with the mist screen once her spotlight turned off. I thought they were going to basically make Murphy rise as the audio of Malificent is laughing and you would see the thing rise up. Thats why when I saw her go up to the air I thought for that moment that Murphy was going to be a no sow.

now that you mention it, i do remember seeing that in the promo video. You know what else wasn't in the promo vid? the sparks that fly out of her head when mickey zaps her! i thought that was awesome!

Finally! What a great night with cheering crowds welcoming the new dragon. One slight glitch was that Murphy did not actually "breath fire" tonight, but it's OK. I'm just so happy to finally see it in person. Here is my video of the new Fantasmic! dragon making its world-premiere, debut performance:

I camped out for the show for the first time ever, about 2.5 hours before show just me and my beach mat waiting for a couple friends. I used to think that people were silly for camping out for it. But I did it myself tonight and it was worth it. I'm pretty sure I yelled the loudest "yeaaaaaaaahhh!" I've ever yelled in months when the dragon finally showed up. Whether or not the dragon doesn't meet expectations or if it seems uneventful after all this wait, I'm glad I was there in person. The excitement of the whole crowd when it showed up was amazing. I'm glad I was there to experience that moment.

Based on your video, I must have been pretty close to your location. And I agree with your post. I loved the energy and all the cheering! It was something else to be a part of that audience. Here are some photos from that very same side.

Wow! I'm impressed guys! You all work fast! Haha! I didn't realize there were that many cyber buddies out there. Did anyone see the man in the blue cape on the bridge over Pirates?, standing next to the Disneyland Internal Communications cameras? lol. You guys must have been the ones who started the whoops and cheering right before the Dragon came out. Well, I got a video too. lol.

Oh, I forgot to mention something. After the show, I told who I thought was a manger that the dragon was a great addition. I didn't realize that,after I got home, I actually gave my compliments to the Show Director herself! . I recognized her from the podcast that covered the nightastic promo. So that was my first encounter with Carla Carlile!

I kinda did too! As it was moving its head back in defeat I couldn't help but imagine the thing snapping off and the crowd and tech's going "Oh s***" at the same time! LOL. But glad nothing major went wrong.
