Please complain about the Space Mountain's line!!!

I was about to have a melt down when I saw the status of Space Mountain's queue. All the paint on the wall was peeled down to the bottom and when I was there one of the ceiling beams fell down on the people and they had to put it down on the right. or go to city hall and complain. Thank you it hurts me to see Space Mountain suffering so much because they are being cheap. The paint literally had 1 coat which is not nearly enough with that many people circulating through that line.

When the group of us were there last monday for the Mickey Mouse Club event, we noticed the paint as well! In several places the paint was chipped away, and in just a horrible state! I hope they can fix this up!!

I think the actuall problem are the teenage guests and parents who fail to control thier children. The new narrow corridors provide ample opportunity to vandals.

You do have to wonder if wider corridors would make the *ahem* walls less noticeable to vandals. You simply cannot help but think of the walls in their current state.

On the bright side, it's harder for kids to cut in a narrow queue.

Space Mountain suffering so much because they are being cheap. The paint literally had 1 coat which is not nearly enough with that many people circulating through that line.

They're not being cheap by only applying one coat of paint. Multiple coats of paint isn't going to make a difference here. It would be a waste of many to apply more paint here because it will just peal more easily. Their using a semi gloss paint which makes it easy to wipe down and clean at the end of the day, and another coat on top of the existing coat will not stick well.

They have to go through a lot of effort to repaint it anyway. They will have to sand all the paint on that entire panel, then completely repaint the entire thing. If they only painted the part that peeled then there would be a noticeable bump in the texture of the wall, which would be the point where people would start to pick at it again. I seem to remember this was a common problem with the old space mountian queue as well. Many times I walked through there to find holes punched in the drywall.

In all honesty the best option in this whole situation would be to install VERY noticeable security cameras, to keep people from doing this.

On Monday night when I was there they had a section stripped down and it looked like they were ready to repaint or reglaze the section. It was down to the white wall and what looked like grey glue bumps almost.

It makes me upset too, to see the walls in sorry shape from stupid guests.

What about putting discarded gum on the walls? That would be a sure-fire way to get no one to touch them...

I say plant some poison ivy along the walls. Although, that wouldn't look very futuristic........

How about an electrified grate system... Not enough to kill, but a nice painful shock would be both a good deterrant and entertainment for the people around the poor shlub why tampers with it!

I agree with JP12 that noticeable security cameras are needed, or better supervision by CM's, at least in the short term.

I the area we are talking about inside the actual mountain? I though that got refurbed along with the rest of the attraction.
