The castle one is nice, but I think it could use a little more contrast between the black & white. The first one doesn't have nearly enough contrast, though I appreciate the shot. I love black & white pictures with something still in colour.

disneyland: 2 next trip: september 2009 @ the disneyland hotel
The one of the castle and the partners statue is great. But in the first shot of the Disneyland sign, the woman with the curly hair and the stop light are very distracting. Good luck with your assignment. I took a photography class last semester and I think half of the pictures I turned in were of something or other at Disneyland.
Ahhhh, I remember these! I really like the castle one, but I agree that there's not a lot of contrast between what's in color and what's in black and white. If you have the chance to shoot stuff again before turning it in, I'd pick things that are brighter and would pop!
I really like the castle one really cool pic. The first one seems cool to, but i dont know i would shot a different Disney sign or maybe something else to much going on in that picture to distract you.

I came back to look again (4 years of photography classes here-) and I think the whites of the first picture distract too. I can see the reflection of the sun, so it makes the sign not that impressive.
Also, with the second one, the partners statue is just as important as the castle and adds a nice effect, but doesnt take away form the castle.
im with everyone that the castle one is great.. but i also do agree with maelstrom that it could use a bit more contrast. hopefully you're working with layers: i'd up the saturation a bit more on the castle's color layer
