So I think we are going to try and go again in February but we are going to go Sunday - Thursday as to avoid weekend crowds, as they have been unusually high but I wasn't sure about the normal crowds for Feb. I was also wondering about the weather is during that time of year.
In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is more meaningful than our criticism designating it so.
Typically, February is one of the wettest, if not the wettest month of the year in southern California. That being said, let's remember that it is southern California we're talking about. It will pour for 20 minutes and be bright sunshine for the rest of the week!
Except for President's day weekend, crowds are light, usually. This year crowds have tended to exceed normal estimations.

Rainy Tuesday in February = best time ever.
I have even seen days with attendance lower than 10K on February weekdays. Place is a GHOST TOWN then, however. But even at under 20K, you'll find Feb is a great time to go.
Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...
We've been to the Parks in february before. As mentioned, very light crowds and usually nice/decent weather. This past year was a little (lot) wetter than usual, but it didn't spoil our trip. We've only been hit with rain a couple of times (this past year for one) and never for the entire trip.
I say...Go for it!
As was said above ... February is generally the wettest month of the year.
And un-like east coast rain (rains for about 30 minutes, then sunny), if it decides to RAIN and REALLY RAIN it will rain all day and all night. We went to DL for our son's birthday one year and it poured for 3 days straight.
But it does help with the crowds, so if you don't mind being a little wet, Disneyland is certainly not too bad in the rain.

Well... last year, the "wettest" month was most definitely January. Was anyone else "rained in" away from home? I took the train up to Santa Barbara to visit my boyfriend and the train tracks were waqshed out-- mudslides. It rained for two weeks straight. Eventually I had to get home byh taking a bus into Santa Barbara City, take a Greyhound to LA, take a taxi to Union Station, take the Metrolink to Irvine. It was ridiculous.

We always go in February, and even though it tends to rain at least one of the three days we were there, crowds are lower especially in the rain. Just bring your rain jacket and a sweatshirt.
On the bright side a) you don't melt, b) crowds are lighter, c) you aren't as worried about getting wet on Splash Mountain - you already are!, d) other people, not being as logical as you, will avoid Splash Mountain, making it a walk-on.
