Did Disney actively advertise and promote the event this year in Anaheim?
I did not think so- that the most they had done was allow the use of their logo- but the promoting was done by the organizers- am I correct or wrong?

I don't think DLR did any promoting of this event. I don't think it has to. Plenty of W.O.M. and internet information.
Why the need to know? Need to start a boycott or something?
ORWEN: By W.O.M.--I assume you mean Witches of Morva--us cauldron girls. We do talk about Gay Days every now and then. But we don't go around advertising it.
ORGOCH: That's cause one of us is too dang busy goin' 'roung advertisin' how DUMB she is!! W.O.M. means word a MOUTH, Blubber Brains!!! Git it?!
It's not a Disney sponsered event no.
Thanks- there is an idiot on another board who told me I was wrong- and that Disney did sponsor it- that he was there and they had been advertising- I told him I didn't think so- and I came to the source.
Sediment- don't be a twit- of course I am not  and I mean that in the nicest way of course-
Though I would like more info to really whack this guy with!
I was going for "twit." And.....scene.Quote:

There's your problem: going to other boards. Only you can solve that one.Quote:

I'm not sure if it's different in Florida, but to the best of my knowledge, no, Disney just rents space to a group who do their own promotion.
I was acting a part. "Scene" is used by the play's director to end a scene, as opposed to "cut" by a film director.Quote:

Disney Co. doesn't sponsor it but the organizers
did rent conference room space for the Gay Days
Welcome center at the Disneyland Hotel.
The Disneyland Hotels also lists on a daily basis the
various conference rooms and the various groups
that are using the rooms and the times they are
being used, so you would see Gay Days listed there.
But Disney sponsoring an event and renting out
space are two different things.
The other thing I saw was a website that claimed perverted things were going on in the park, but the photos they used (from Florida) were from Pleasure Island, an over-21 bar.
Having been to gay days a few years now, all I've seen are some well-behaved folks in red. Maybe I missed the fun, I don't know.
This question comes up every year - several times - and I always ask, so what if Disney sponsored Gay Days? Yes, there are some homophobes that would boycott Disney, but are there REALLY that many people who would refuse Disney to their kids because of this? Somehow, I really don't see it making an impact.
But, I'm an optomist and hope that the world is a kind and loving place. HA!
Besides, if they do boycott--the lines would be shorter, so I'd probably stay longer and then spend the amount of money Disney lost.
Just doing my part for Disney. Gay Days so totally rocks. If they can get that many people there without official sponsorship from the Disney Corp, can you imagine what would happen if there WAS official sponsorship?
It would rock even more!
Peace,
Roo
