Question When is it slowest at the Park?

My friends and I want to plan a weekend to Disneyland, we go all the time but want to go on a weekend when it will be slow and we don't have to rush ride to ride and not have to deal with the crowds so what is the slowest time of year at the resort?

I was thinking late January but is this the slowest time?

Re: When is it slowest at the Park?

If you can wait long enough, I have found that from the 2 weeks after Easter until Memorial Day are really light. My daughter's Birthday is April 21, and when we went this year (for 5 days): we got there at opening on Sunday, and got through The Jungle Cruise, Tazan's Treehouse, POTC, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh (with Pics of Pooh, Eyeore, and Tigger), hopped the Train to Toon Town and did everything there (except the Roger Rabbit ride) including pics with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. All before lunch.

The entire time we were there, the only thing we waited for was Nemo, Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters and Toystory Mania). We walked on just about everything else.

I went in early December 2007, and the place was more deserted than I'd ever seen it. I was able to walk onto Big Thunder three times at noon.

When it rains, like this coming Wednesday.

    Otherwise:

Weekdays (except Friday evenings) in September, January and May are empty. Really, really empty. I went on the Thursday right before Labor Day, and Space Mountain was never longer than 15 minutes.

Though on those days, Fantasyland and other kid-friendly rides will still tend to have some lines, because a lot of the guests are parents with very young children (1-4 years old). Still, even then, only Peter Pan and Nemo get past 20 minutes.

Re: When is it slowest at the Park?

It used to be that the period from the Monday after Thanksgiving to about a week before Christmas it was a ghost town at DL...with the influx of AP's and the payment plan though, I don't know whether that will still be the case this year.

Also, as a general rule on Super Bowl Sunday it is empty unless there is some other event the same day that would bring people to the park.

Things have cahnged drasstically in the last year, but the deadest times traditionally were between Labor day and mid October, early May and any foggy sprinkly day in early December.

Disneyland was pretty near capacity last Super Bowl. I think everybody assumes Disneyland will be empty, so everybody goes.

The last 3 Super Bowl Sundays, 2 were virtually empty when I arrived at park opening and stayed that way until 4 p.m. when I left. 1 was a mad house all day, can't remember if it was the last Super Bowl or the one before. I've been to the park on 4 other Super Bowl Sundays (but not in successive years like the last 3) and each time it was empty. Hence general rule.

It is also true that if it is misty/foggy/rainy, there will be fewer people. But that does not give you much time to plan, because if it turns out to be a beautiful day despite predictions, there will be crowds.
