Re: Starbucks on Main Street!
OK.. i know all you people are hating me right now... But personally I don't think that Disneyland is corporate America. The "DISNEY" name is. But I don't think that "DISNEYLAND" is. Disneyland is supposed to be what is good and pure with our country not what is wrong with it.

I think this is a good point. Everyone who automatically assumes having Starbucks is going to ruin Disney needs to realize Walt himself was never against corporate sponsorships.
Re: Starbucks on Main Street!
Disneyland is corporate though. Just look at the growing number of annual passholders! Okay, maybe that isn't a good argument.
But consider this, without corporate sponsorship, who'd fuel the fireworks that light up the skies at night? Who would supply our drinks on a hot day?

See my previous post. Walt Disney, the maker of the magic and "good and pure" Disneyland had no problem with corporate sponsorships. Why should we?
There wouldn't be a Disneyland without corporate America.

What? With all due respect you have absolutely no idea why the citrus house is no longer there.
Re: Starbucks on Main Street!
Maybe so. But Personally i don't think so!

Yeah and Walt Did what he had to do for the Benifit of the parks, " Coca-Cola made a deal with Disney to sell their products exclusively. Coca-Cola gives Disneyland all their products for free as long as they don't allow any of their competitors to be sold at Disneyland."
So thats why the Sodas are so reasonable with unlimited refills.
The bottom line is Disney is about making Money, So they will continue to do so and I will continue to be a fan, even if we get star tours sponsored by Summers Eve ladies products.

In Disneyland, the Sunkist Citrus House survived on Main Street until 1990, when the Blue Ribbon Bakery replaced it.
It got replaced with the blue ribbon Bakery. That was easy :)

Sooo, we should kick out Coca-Cola? Disney must now make their own line of soft drinks?

When Walt Disney was alive the park served both Pepsi-Cola and Coca-Cola. Disney does pay for Coca-Cola syrup, but The Coca-Cola COmpany probably pays much more for advertising. Plus you are ignoring that revenue from food does not stay within food, but is used to fund other areas of the parks.
The corporate sponsorships were not a means to end, like the ownership deal with ABC that was quickly ended.

I'm sure many Peoplemover, ATIS, and Country Bears fans would agree with me in saying that just because something is no longer in Disneyland does not mean it was a mistake.

My main concern is that they make the drinks properly. If you are used to Starbucks quality and having your drink made a certain way and it's not will they remake it? Starbucks is good about that, is Disney? Sometimes the grocery store outlets get fussy about how THEY make the drinks, and cop an "we don't DO that here!'
Re: Starbucks on Main Street!
I personally love the idea of Starbucks inside the park, but hopefully in a way that blends in with Disneyland. For instance, if they hung a big placard out on Mainstreet with the Stabucks logo on it, it would COMPLETELY blow the theming of Main Street beyond human comprehension. And we would also need to lose the Starbucks cups. If there were a creative way to work a small starbucks logo in with a Disneyland themed cup, I really think they would be on to something.
I really see no difference between this and, say, orange juice by Sunkist back in the day. Aunt Jemima, The Wizard of Bras, Kodak...the list goes on and on. Featuring a certain brand isn't really a problem, IMO. But if they start waving it in everyone's faces so that is what your eye catches as you come down Main Street...I would not be OK with that. I think they could very easily work it in so that the current theming would not be altered in any way.
In the mean time, I wants my Machiatto, and being able to buy it on Main Street would be amazing. :)
