Starbucks on Main Street!

Al Lutz has mentioned in his recent article that there maybe a starbucks in the Market House on Maint Street AND will be an addition for the New Buena Vista St in DCA. Also all coffee in all restaurants will be changed to starbucks! So I wanna know what people think about this! I think this is REALLY awesome and a godsend! As much as I like the coffee from Disneyland, it's just not up to par with Starbucks! This would be great and I can have a caramel frapachino while going thru the castle, a dream come true! So what are you're thoughts! Love it? Hate it?

Put me in favor of Starbucks at the resort. However, I want them to be VERY careful about how they do it so the theme of Main Street is kept in tact.

If they build the shop very tastefully and unique and in character with a old school Main Street then I would not mind. Disneyland has had a long long history of corporate sponsorships so I cannot be upset at what was Walt's doing. I understand it, but keep it tasteful!

I would love a outside sponsor to come in and bring back the Tahitian Terrace! How about that! With non alcoholic mixed drinks and such! It would be amazing! A taste of Island paradise in adventure land! It would be awesome.
If Disney cannot and will not do it themselves, let someone else in and do it!
There used to be many non Disney owned shops in the park since the early days and there are still some there today! Lets bring back the Tahitian Terrace with a outside contractor! (problem is the food will probably be better then any of the other places and the lines will be huge and it will eat into Disney Co. money! So it will probably not happen but I wish it would!

Well according to Al, it's still going to be the same theme, just with Starbucks branded on it. It's going to be interesting to see how they'll pull this off. I doubt they'll make it ultra modern like how most of their stores.

Sounds like a GODSEND. It's about time we get some actual coffee, Starbucks or not, in the parks.

Like everyone before me has said, as long as they make it look appropriate for Main Street, I'm all for it.

Agreed. I really don't care who the sponsor is... it's just the way it always has been. But it doesn't mean I want a big green starbucks logo on Main Street AT ALL. The more invisible the better.

I'm not a fan of Starbucks (it tastes over roasted to me) but I am in favor of the idea of something more upscale than the mega global Nestle brand. But as Dusty mentioned, be careful and do it right.

Yes.



I'm not too crazy about the idea, but depends on how prominent it would be. Are we talking about an actual store or just a little area for it in an existing spot? I don't the big Starbucks logo on Main Street big and bold. A little area in a shop maybe....that being said I do like Starbucks, just don't want it over taking the look and feel of that particular area of the park.

I'm in favor of this, as long as they do it right. Which I have to believe they will. Starbucks is a great corporate brand, regardless of their over-saturation.

As much as I appreciate the idea of better coffee being in the resort, Starbucks wouldn't be my first choice. Although it would be really nice to walk down Main Street with a pumpkin spice latte right now....or a gingerbread one during the holidays!

This won't be the company's first non-Starbucks branded location serving Starbucks coffee.

As Dustysage alluded, Starbucks won't be opening a modern looking outlet, it will still look like a Main Street Coffee House, only it will be hosted by Starbucks.

Starbucks products will be served accross the resort, and one coffee house specifically will proudly serve their coffee products.

There won't be the type of STARBUCKS BRAND STORE you are used to on Main Street. There probably won't be any Starbucks logo except maybe the words HOSTED BY STARBUCKS under the name MARKET HOUSE COFFEE CO.
