I know, it was a joke and a quick copy paste from another thread.

By the way, nice idea. Though I still think retheming the hotel would look nicer, probably.
Yea, that idea wasn't to block the hotel, it was to block the rest of the area. Like i said, my terrible sarcasm. As for spelling, I am the worst at spelling on the forum, so you should have an easy time with picking off my mistakes. :P I just laughed at trellis because of how your thread focused on debating it. :P Sorry, I'm a bad person.

What MyCroft Said. WoC is being designed to be adaptive where as F! has a strict narrative to follow. That is why I too belive that it will be repurposed over the years.

Then you have something else keeping your browser open. There is zero reason for the computer to bog down from a website AFTER the process is closed. Check your task manager afterwards and look for any firefox.exe processes... if they are there.. your browser has never closed down.

You could just visit his smugmug site directly if you want control over what you see or not... mintcrocodile.smugmug.com

But if you read sites via an RSS reader to start... you could visit his blog and view only one post at a time, rather then trying to view all the active posts on the default page. One post = less photos to load and it will be more responsive.

More then likely it's the old posts with the raw 1600x1200 images on it that are being loaded when you view the page and that's bogging your computer down. I never have a problem with his site anymore - but in part because I only read one post at time... via links provided by my RSS reader.

If you don't use an RSS aggregator already.. I highly suggest it. You can keep tabs on all your favorite blogs, etc (including those at Micechat) and know when they are updated and go right to them.. rather then browsing around and checking for updates.

i don't think he meant to say that the hotels made the park awesome or that the parks were not highly themed. I believe he was syaing that just because there are hotels visible within the park it does not mean that it destroys the intimicy/experience of the park itsels. the key is whether or not the hotel is made to at least somehow fit the area and environment that it looms over.

Actually notice the facade theming of the GCH hotel that faces the Pier. WDI went ahead and altered it so that it fits the timeline and architecture to what they hope to eventually accomplish with Paradise Pier when it is compeltely done in the future. The facade has a slight new England style archiecture that should fit nicely with the mermaid facade and eventually the northern area of the pier as it gets built out. The problem at the moment is the Paradise Pier hotel.

I agree, when i first heard of the ideas for the northern area and the eventual facade changes for the GCH addition my first reaction was for them to take it one step further.

I really thought that the GCH extention should had continued over the Mullholland madness area, Burger invasion pad and eating area next to mullholland I think that they could have designed it to look like the boardwalk in WDW. The big change i would have considered is to allow the land to be shared by both the hotel and park. The first and seocnd floor left empty so that they could install a darkride. To keep height of the structure at an apropriate size the main portion of the darkride built slightly below groundThe Pizza oom mow mow building rethemed to match and left as a restuarant and the reamining land including the rustworthy and uselss themed road that lead to burger invasion turned into a lush garden/seating area.

At the point the jumping jellyfish relocated to an area between the mermaid attraction and souvenir 66 store. The area occupied by the jumping jelly fish and back of rustworthy, which is gone now, as well as the sand pit in front of it heavily landscaped to serve as a place to relax sit down and enjoy the views.

Imagine the nice Berm that the hotel could have created in that northern corner and the plot of land would have been used for both park and hotel.

They could have even built a restuarant at one of the upper levels and could have become a primed viewing area for the show.

I agree, there are so many other designs that could be used. Not only has the coronado look for the hotels been done already but the Midway Mania facade has some features that are similar.

Theme of that new hotel is something I do not know though, sorry. :/

The hotel should really be tirned down so that the land could be better used. Right now the hotel seems distant from the rest of the resort. the small road between it and the Disneyland hotel property along with the parking lot behind it makes it even worse.

Once the other hotels finally get built they really need to start getting srious and tear it down. A new hotel then built with gardens and a proper underground parking area. At the same time they need to keep in mind future expansion into the parking lot whether it is for the near future or many years in the future.

[sarcasm] Wrapping around that flume ride would hide the hotel expansion too [/sarcasm] In all honesty, I think that the new hotel will look just fine but only serve to make MM/GSS seem even more out of place.

Great idea.
And the suits would love it because it includes hotels and restaurants.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VIII

Last I have heard about the Electrical Parade is it will still be following the same route as the Pixar Parade now. It will likely be starting at the gates next to the Tortilla Factory and exit the Sunshine Plaza as always. They are even supposed to start rehearsals for this very soon. Also, there were no plans to have any parade go through Paradise Pier area at all through 2010. Even if the viewing area is done, there is still construction for the Little Mermaid and Silly Symphony Swings. Also, work should start on Pizza Om Mow Mow and that area for its retheme. So still lots to do over there and having a parade go through would be more headaches.

Naturally, this could change, but I have not heard any other info to say it has so far..

So does this mean the DEP won't be returning to Disneyland for its 55th?

I have no idea what other site he would be found on, I only visit Mice Chat or Mice Age.

Maybe your IP is limiting your download access. I have the Magic Eye website (and a few others) open on both Safari and Firefox (as I type this response) with no perceptible slowing. Now, I'm running a new iMac Quad Core which may have some effect. But, your Dell shouldn't be having that much of a problem unless maybe your graphics card isn't up to speed or, as I suggested, your IP is slowing your download speed.

If on a laptop are you plugged into the wall or using wireless internet? Dell's wireless cards in that pricerange may not be the best if running off the battery. I have had that problem.
