PoM is getting really mysterious... Why would they fill in that gap?

I love that we've given it an acronym all its own now. PoM. LOL!

It looks very nice now whatever it is. Curious to see its finished and finalized state.

The PoM is not in the middle of the viewing area.

It's weird they'd take down the scaffolding when they still apparently will install something on top of the pillar. And the "windows" are not installed yet.

The lower one was probably an access door that is still there but you can't see because of the surface treatments.

But of course!

Even when the mystery is solved, we need to at least still keep the acronym "PoM".

I'm still going through my pictures from yesterday but here's a close one. If the door is still there then it's well hidden.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VIII

My theory regarding the POM is that those are water spouts at all four corners of the whole plaza and they will shoot water towards the pillar and into those "windows". Notice how the windows that remain are all aligned with the four corners. What do you guys think?

P.S. My guess for the top of POM is a statue, possibly of TLM.

Left as in he resigned, or left as in he was laid off? That must suck for him if he was laid off. Hope he moves on to bigger and better things!

So there's no models or concept art with clues about Pillar of Mystery? =o

Did anyone ask about it at the D23 Expo?

I think it will be lighting in the corners, not water. Why? Mainly because the old models showed it as a planter, not fountain. Just my theory

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VIII

Looking forward to your update and photos, Macro!

Regarding the missing access panel on the PoM, I imagine once the decorative cement work cures a bit, they will go back and slice it to reveal the door, if they even need the door anymore. It could be they just left that cavity in case of future need.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VIII

So models show it's a planter? Odd, I've never seen such a large planter before.
