Amazing how the same person can be responsible for both of two creative failures, but at the same time, what will hopefully be a creative masterpiece.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VIII

If he was the creative lead on Carsland which is still under construction doesn't this worry anyone else that he has left? Creative Differences? I can understand why someone would consider Sunshine Plaza and the Original Paradise Pier "Failures" but Carsland is looking very good but again, it's still under construction so why is it being called a creative failure??? I think the new things that are coming to DCA are just the right things to be doing. But more worrying to me is why is Tim gone?

No one called Carsland a creative failure.

See above quoted post. They did. There were two projects the person worked on, and the poster said "both of two creative failures".

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VIII

^ No he didn't. The two creative failures were Sunshine Plaza and Paradise Pier. He then said, "at the same time, ..."

Both of the two creative failures= Sunshine Plaza and Paradise Pier, not Carsland.

By "both", I believe the poster meant Sunshine Plaza and Paradise Pier.

The structure is not part of the planter. It's just gonna be a statue. Here's a pic of that part of the model, but whats at the park right now is different from whats depicted on the model so it doesn't really matter.

and they also said original Paradise Pier. Paradise Pier looks a lot better now with the new midway games and expanded theming, and soon Paradise Garden.

I don't see the PP concept as a creative failure.. it looks especially beautiful at night. Just my opinion - I know many here disagree with me.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker VIII

Two questions:

1) Will the access road behind DCA still be required by the city to route traffic to parking once Cars Land is built? If so, will there be a backstage road behind Cars Land, as there is in all other parts of the resort?

2) Could they build a mountain vista behind the eastern helix/queue part of Screamin' to help block out the Convention Center? It would be like the distant mountains surrounding the LA basin. They could even be very simple facades located between the access road and the backstage areas, allowing parades and vehicles to pass in front of them.

They could very easily build a mountain type structure behind screaming, there is A LOT of room back there, they could even add a ride or two inside the mountains.

Well I particularly meant the eastern side of Screamin', where there isn't much land at all, especially if the access road remains. There would only be enough space for a facade.

Until they have metal that is either teal or green, and then it's over.
