Re: Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party 10/15

ZomBats - I'm sure your TR is gonna be Awesome . Don't doubt yourself.
Thanks. Hopefully I'll have another trip worthy of an Awesome TR like this one. Maybe in the Holidays or something.
Thanks for the compliments on our costumes

Dan - Tasmic! -
1. Yes we completely made our costumes.
2. How we made them:
-Both shirts are from Dickies (hers is a boys shirt).
-Her shorts are from some chick story, mine are Dickies that her mom hemmed to make them shorter for the comedic effect haha.
-Brown fabric used to make our sashes from scratch (made by her mom)
-Bought plain hats at Walmart
-Found orange shoe laces at some shoe store
-Patches made completely from scratch using different colored construction felt. This included the badges on the sash and the WE logos.
-Backpacks as well as all the knick-knacks bought from Salvation Army (didn't have a chance to make it to an Army Surplus store).
-I made the WE Logos on photoshop using the logo from a WE book and printed them out on sticker paper for our flags and stuff.

That is pretty much everything .

Great tip report!

Welcome to the boards. You will absolutely love it here.

As for your costumes...what a great idea. Once I figured out what you were (not boyscouts) I went, "Why didn't I think of that." Absolutely wonderful! I'm glad you both had a great time and as everyone else has said, "you both make a great and cute couple."

Re: Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party 10/15

Hey! I got a huge kick out of seeing your trip report out here. As I told you when I ran into you at the event, you definitely had the best costumes there. I've show a ton of people the picture I took of you and they all love your costume. I think my favorite part is the Grape Crush bottle caps... I just regret I didn't get a picture of your packs. No one could tell you ran out of time on them... They were amazing.

Anyway, just had to say "hey".

Loved the pictures and your costumes were amazing. It clearly took lots of time to make them but shows you really care about the character. Great job!

Re: Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party 10/15

Your costumes are truly wonderful! Good job on the execution and attention to detail. And thanks for sharing details on making your costumes. I was Russell at a Halloween party last weekend, and you've given me some good ideas on how to improve my own costume. I think I need a backpack, because that definitely adds to the effect!

One question: did you debate between yellow vs. khaki? I was unsure which color to go with, because the screen shots I've looked at look like they could go either way. The Disney pre-parade character has a light yellow shirt/hat...but then matching yellows is really difficult! I'm thinking your khaki route is the much easier way to go.

Any how, thanks for sharing! It looks like you had a marvelous time.
