Captain EO about to be announced according to Al:

Editor's Note 11/1: Here we go again... Remember the Captain EO rumor we told you about months ago? After being pulled at the very last minute during the D23 Expo, the jittery lawyers and Iger himself have been put more at ease, and the announcement of EO's return to Disneyland in January should be coming any day now. Despite a less than thrilling $32M open for the "This Is It" rehearsal film, Team Disney Anaheim is looking at the merch and attendance numbers that EO could drive before World of Color opens in late April. - Al Lutz

Yeah, great timing. Could of had your marketing chance TDA, with the new movie out all, but you're going to be kinda late now.

A movie about music opens with $32 million and that is considered less than thrilling?

Jonas Bros. 3D made about 19 million, and Hannah Montana made about 65 million --- over their entire runs!

Sounds to me like a $32 million opening weekend is a MASSIVE haul for a film/documentary related to music.

my thoughts exactly! And it was halloween weekend too. Most people were to busy to watch!

But still, I will add how happy this pre-announcement has made me.

I guess they're not seeing the big picture; The money made during opening weekend could have paid for the entire EO film!

This is the best news I've heard in months. I know the theme-nazis are all over this (those other Captain EO threads got UGLY) but it is going to make a whole lot of people happy!

Cool! I've never been a huge EO fan, but if I get an opportunity to see it in 3D with effects and in its original venue, I won't pass it up.

Unless I have to wait for, like, three or four shows...
