Thanksgiving at Disneyland
So my friend (who, ironically, is always criticizing me for my obsession with Disney) was telling me the other day about how his family goes to Disneyland for Thanksgiving dinner every year. I guess it's at one of the hotels or something. He said they have tons of food and it's like 4 hours long. Has anyone heard of this or been to it? Thanksgiving is supposed to be at my grandma's house this year, and lets just say she can't cook. Would this be a good alternative?
Re: Thanksgiving at Disneyland
i personally have never been to it, but i'm going this year for my birthday, and i hear that the food was pretty good
edit: sorry meant to say that my birthday was the day after thanksgiving this year so yeah we'll be there thanksgiving day
Re: Thanksgiving at Disneyland
Yes, the Disneyland Hotel does offer a major "all you can eat" Thanksgiving meal in its main convention hall, last I checked it was about $60 a person.
On the other hand, Knott's offers the same basic thing for about $30 a person.
I have done both, and prefer the Knott's version, where I will more than likely be on Thanksgiving this year!

But on the other hand, who knows how to to cook Foul better than Knott's.... The Turkey is amazing. They sell thousands of Turkey to Go meals on Thanksgiving is a testimony of how good Knott's can prepare a Traditional Thanksgiving Meal.
Re: Thanksgiving at Disneyland
We've enjoyed the Thanksgiving Feast in the Grand Ballroom of the DLH going on seven years now. It's awesome! (we also enjoy the Mother's Day and Easter Buffet's, though this year they cancelled the Easter one)
More than you could ever eat at one sitting. An awesome salad bar with cracked crab, claws and prawns too. Prime Rib, Turkey and Ham just to name a few of the main dishes. And to top it off... The Dessert Bar! It's complete with a chocolate fountain and crepe station. They have a great kids Buffet table too.
We enjoy our meal with the best of our friends. It's our family tradition!
Most other choices in the area are amateur hour compared to the Feast!
We made our reservations the first day that they were available. Call Disney Dining @ 714-781-DINE.
Enjoy!
Re: Thanksgiving at Disneyland
We were there last Thanksgiving and ate at Cafe Orleans. Big mistake. It was terrible! (Their Thanksgiving food anyway.) Luckily, I ordered a monte cristo, but, hubby sent back their Thanksgiving and got something else. If we'd not flown in around 6 pm that day, we'd have gone to the DLH. I hear that's the best place to eat on Thanksgiving.
Re: Thanksgiving at Disneyland
$60 is a bit pricey, but no more pricey than one could expect from Disneyland. But still TOO pricey for a family of 5. I guess I'll just have to suffer through my grandma's cooking :(

^^^^^^^^
Believe me, you wouldn't be able to buy, cook and serve (plus don't forget the clean-up) the amount and quality of food that is offered at the Feast for the price they're asking.
And we're a family of six (and party of nine)... ;)
But Grandma's cookin' is tought to beat! And always from the heart!
Happy Thanksgiving!
