    Tree house.

I always make it a point to climb the tree house and look at the great view it shows. Even though it has changed it's name, I still enjoy it. But what bugs me is that it closes at dusk. There are no CMs that work it so it can't be a cost cutting move. Why does it have to close?

I don't know, but if they allowed a guest to rent it for the night, I would.

Probably for safety reasons, unless the steps are more brightly lit you could get people tumbling down the stairs.

I agree with Westside. It's probably safety/liability reasons. The treehouse steps and play area are probably not illuminated well enough (up to standards) to allow night time use and Disney aparently sees no reason or benefit to spend the money and changing that.

Safety and security reasons probably seem like the most obvious reasons.

It might collapse under the weight of too many geniuses all at once jamming in up there trying to get an even better view of Fantasmic or the fireworks every night.

This is another really good point here. I remember as a kid you could explore the SFR treehouse up until the park closed but about a few months or so after fantasmic opened they started closing the treehouse when the show started. Nowadays the treehouse just closes right at dusk.

That would be a great idea - renting the Treehouse for the night. I'd like that better than the Dream Suite!

Hidden Mickey - Historical fiction about Walt that mixes action and mystery with time travel and fantasy! Tweens to adults will enjoy these novels. And now, three gamebooks to play in Disneyland, DCA and WDW Magic Kingdom!

    Re: Tree house.

The treehouse closes at around 8:45 for Fantasmic! There are safety issues with guests trying to get a good view of the show (not so good from up there) and some concerns with the lasers in use during the show.

I also think it is because too many people would try to view fantasmic and the fireworks from that spot! Just an accident waiting to happen!

So if it gets dark at 5 and they close it at 8:45, that gives you plenty of time to run around on it in the dark!

    Re: Tree house.

I should say: as a general rule, the treehouse closes about 15 minutes before the first show of Fantasmic!... no matter what time it starts.
