Casey Jr. and Storybook Reopening Date

Well, what I originally thought was a new holiday overlay to Storybook Land (maybe I should ride it more often) turned out to be just an "official" announcement of its opening date.

    11.13.09 — I Think I Can, I Think I Can!
Casey Jr. Circus Trains and Storybook Land Canal Boats at Disneyland will reopen on November 20 with Holiday décor, including miniature holiday trees, lights and wreaths decorating many of the houses.
    Sorry for the false alarm.

I guess in addition to standard maintenance we're also getting something new for the holidays! It sounds quite interesting. I could easily see this becoming an overlay every year and I think its great that we finally get something new to enjoy for Christmas.

    Your thoughts?
    Great!!
Actually this is not new, when I visited in Dec. 2007. Storylbookland was decorated for the holidays. It had lights, Christmas trees and bows and wreath decorations.

Wow, I kind of wonder why Disney hasn't really said anything about it before. Maybe I should ride things more often. Oh well. Atleast now we know when they will reopen.

    Sorry for the false alarm.

Re: Casey Jr. and Storybook Land Holiday Overlay

Frankly, I've been waiting impatiently for these two rides to reopen.

I've only recently discovered what a treasure Casey Jr. and Storybook Land are. I usually walk right past these 2 rides whenever I go to Fantasyland.

I like how Casey Jr.,when it picks up speed, travels surprisingly fast. I can't wait to see it dressed up for the holidays.

We've had unmemorable trips on Storybook which I try to block out from my memory. One time while on Storybook, the CM complained about her day and gave us the most sarcastic get me out of her tone while pointing out everything. It ruined the experience.

But last year as my family and I were on our way out, after an entire day at Disneyland we decided to try out Storybook because there was no line. The CM was just about to close the ride but as she saw us walking up to the queue she stopped and told us to hop on. Because there were no children in our party the CM tweaked her usual spiel a la Jungle Cruise. By the time we reached the load/unload area my sisters and I were having so much fun talking to the CM and enjoying the miniatures that we could barely control our laughter. I wish I had gotten the CM's name.

Never been on storybookland, so I'll make note of this.

As have I! Casey Jr. is my second favorite ride in the park and everytime I walk past those walls I get anxious!

    3 more days!

I'm the same way. They both truely are overlooked treasures of the park and I love riding them to just relax and take in everything-

Is that what they are doing to the rides? I thought they were adding new scenes and characters. Guess I should do more reading of the fine print!

Hidden Mickey - Historical fiction about Walt that mixes action and mystery with time travel and fantasy! Tweens to adults will enjoy these novels. And now, three gamebooks to play in Disneyland, DCA and WDW Magic Kingdom!
