I always wondered what happens to the turkey pardoned from the previous year? I know the new turkey takes its spot on the ranch, but what happens to the old one(s)? Do they just keep them somewhere offstage, as some sort of legless pets?

I just saw last years Turkey on Halloween day so I know he was still alive on that day. So the new Turkey maybe with the old Turkey by tomorrow or is it today.

I think these Turkeys are bread for getting fat quick and don't tend to live a long time. So who knows.....

I read somewhere (sorry, can't remember where therefore can't back this up) that one of the two turkeys from last year is still around. And I also read that the two new turkeys, Courage and Carolina (the backup) will be joining him so that means people should be able to see three turkeys at the Ranch.

I'll have to make sure to stop by and say hello to the turkey when I visit next week.

I worked at the turkey pardoning event last year and after the President left and everyone had a chance to pet the bird they brought in a huge turkey carrier with Disney 'Celebrate' stickers all over it, which I thought was pretty cool. The sticker over the door said "mail to Disneyland" or something like that. In any case, I am sure Pecan and Pumpkin were celebrating (:
