Question When it rains at Disneyland

I am planning a trip to Disneyland on 12.12.09 and forecast says it will be raining that day. I really hope it doesn't because that it the ONLY day we can go.

anyway, if it rains, what does the park usually do?Close rides? Close early? Issue refunds?

Hardly any of that. Most attractions are indoor. Lightning might cause more closures, but we hardly ever get thunderstorms like that.

Rain will keep the more frequent guests away.

Yeah, I've been when it's been bucketing down and nothing closed. Dumbo in a heavy rainstorm is fun

And it's a great time to ride Splash or Grizzly since you're already going to be wet.

It definitely does keep guests away so ride lines get shorter for a lot of the rides.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

It is even more magical. At least to me. Everything is shiny and glossy and the smell of rain on asphalt? *bliss*

Just bring a poncho or an umbrella that folds up nice and small and you'll be good to go.

    But...

Albert Hammond said it NEVER rain rains in southern California

Besides, predicting the weather for tomorrow isn't always 100% accurate, let alone 9-10 days out. Like MissChristine said, just bring and umbrella and poncho, maybe an extra pair of shoes and some socks and stick them in a locker and enjoy the beauty of a wet park! Disneyland in the rain is still a magical place to be. And usually when it does rain, it doesn't last to long at a time.

If it's raining during the night Castle shows or during BIHM it will not snow...soap bubbles + water = lawsuits

Side note: I've seen BIHM when it's pouring and the rain pulls down all the smoke so the fireworks look crystal clear.

Good point - tread carefully after the "snow" if the ground is wet. SUPER slippery!

Personally, I like going to Disneyland a lot more when it's raining. It's less crowded and lots of fun. The rides stay open, and sometimes the only thing that you won't get to see are the parades.

I didnt see anybody say this:

    DRESS WARMLY.

Disneyland is A LOT of fun and more pleasurable in the rain, but if you don't dress for the weather, you will be quite miserable.
