Mark Twain, Sailing ship, and Canoe refurb?

I keep checking the schedule each day for our upcoming vacation (Feb. '10) and it now shows the Mark Rwain, Canoes and Sailing ship refurb during this time. Never done the canoes or sailing ship yet... get it won't be this time either.

I believe it's a refurb on the ROA. I may be wrong but I think there is a refurb coming up. the Sailing ship is a lot like the Mark Twain. I think they use the same track too.

Canoes are on the same track, too. As are the AA ducks.

Yes, the enitre ROA will be closed for refurb.

The entire river is to be drained and walled off.

So all River attractions (Mark Twain, Columbia, Pirates Lair and the Rafts and Canoes) will be closed.

This also means that Fantasmic! will be dark.

It will be finished by May with Fantasmic! returning in June.

I thought the ducks were using the new trackless technology.

As of a couple days ago, the Disneyland website only shows the MT Riverboat, Columbia Sailing Ship and Canoes as under refurbishment early next year, but no mention of the rafts to TS's Island being down. That would be a real shame if the Island is closed too.

Next trip to Disneyland: December 3-6, 2011. I can't wait!!!

Re: Mark Twain, Sailing ship, and Canoe refurb?

With the Rivers of America being drained for a full refurbishment, it would make it difficult to have the rafts running. I still think they could run a bridge to the island and at least have that open!

Unless they put skateboard wheels on the rafts, I don't see the island staying open.

technically Disneyland calls it Tom Sawyer's Island too.
Pirate's Lair is on Tom Sawyer's Island, it isn't the name of the island itself.

Oh, I agree with you, if ROA is totally drained and closed, the rafts might be a tad difficult to operate. But I haven't seen an official announcement or posting that ROA is in fact going to be closed entirely for refurbishment. Just holding out hope, I guess...

I don't think the rafts are an attraction themselves. I believe their part of TSI. You still have to wonder why they didn't put TSI on the list though.

What about the animals that call ROA home? What will come of them during refurb?
