The world is a treasure trove of places.

Which park is the most fun to be at for NYE? Disneyland or California Adventure? Just wondering..

Just to let you know for the last 2 years the weather were strange.
Last year, the fog rolled in at around 9pm. By 11:59pm it was so foggy that you can't see more than 100 feet. So, when the fireworks went off you can't see the fireworks at all. Only bright lights shining through the clouds.
About 2 years ago, the midnight fireworks were canceled due to high wind. I was pissed.
For the first time in 2 years, this new year eve the weather should be picture-perfect.
Should anyone even try to deal with parking in the afternoon and evening? I'm kinda wanting to get a trip in over new-year's, spending the 31st in DCA and saving DL for the next day. Due to scheduling I wouldn't be able to get there until late afternoon at earliest. With the ongoing parking fiasco there's no way it's going to be remotely pretty on the 31st.
Just for reference, this was the Hub at approximately 4:30pm on New Year's Eve 2008.
But I don't want to go among MAD people!

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowww........ ........you people are crazy....
see these people i don't get. you're in the happiest place on earth, and you decide to sit on the ground for 5 hours for a bunch of fireworks? the only way i would be in one spot for 5 hours is if i'm meeting a celebrity
This will be my first time celebrating NYE @ Disneyland. I'm wondering where is the best spot to be at for the countdown...Castle, Small World, or Rivers of America? And what time should we set up our blankets?
I would go again - but I would not repeat how our family did things last year:
New Years Eve was our fourth day at the parks, so we were quite tired. We got in early and stayed all day but my sons got tired and cranky (and cold) and we got frustrated getting from one spot to another, etc. The dj music was too loud for one son. We had a hard time finding a place to eat.
If you plan better than we did and you arrive rested, it should go well. There is an energy in the park that I'd never experienced before or since.
If anybody is going on New Years, would you be willing to pick up 10 maps from each of the parks? I would be willing to pay for postage and the a little extra for your time. I collect the maps and they always have a special guide map available only on that day and I won't be able to make it. Please PM me if you can and we can arrange it. Thank you SO Much in advance.
